Event Recorder Data Analysis Software

SHORT DESCRIPTION
RDVT is a software that allows to download, view and process the data recorded in the Crash Protected Memory Module (CPMM) of FAR Systems Railway Event Recorder (RER100). It also allows to manage the RER100 configuration file and even to modify the configuration. RER100 records different types of variables/ events: Start and stop recording Speed in km/ h Distance travelled in meters Analog voltage or current Inputs (depending on hardware configuration) Digital inputs Variables in string format The sampling period for all inputs is 100ms and the registration of a variable can be triggered per event, change or timeout. Event: There was a specific event that requires the registration of a variable. Change: The variable has changed from the previous recorded value of a quantity exceeding the threshold hysteresis defined in the configuration file. Timeout: Maximum time (as defined in the configuration file), has elapsed since the last registration. RDVT software allows downloading data from the CPMM to a maintenance laptop via Ethernet link. Once downloaded, the software displays the recorded data in graphical and tabular form, applies filters, and provides search, measurement and comparison functions. The software allows to save the downloaded data in RAW (original) format and to export to CSV, and XML. The software has 3 access levels each of which are password protected. Level 1 allows data viewing only. Level 2 allows data downloading and viewing. Level 3 allows access to previous levels functions and to manage the RER100 configuration file (download, upload, view and change).. The software provides an option to select the language before starting a project. RDVT has online help (both general and contextual)..

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
The minimum hardware requirements to install the software RDVT are: PC with Pentium IV O.S. windows XP or Vista RAM > 512 MB Minimum disk space 50 MB Ethernet interface for data downloading Connection to internet for downloading software updates

LIST VIEW AND GRAPHICAL VIEW

The data stored in files downloaded from Event Recorder can be displayed in two forms: A) LIST VIEW: It shows the list of variables in the following format: Time (dd / mm / yyyy HH.mm.ss I) Place where the event took place

Value of variable

B)

GRAPHICAL VIEW: Graphs consist of these sections ( Please refer to the figure above): 1) Toolbar 2) Chart area 3) List of variables 4) List markers 5) Initial and Final position markers on the graph 6) Indication of data from space/ time of start and end markers 7) Delta and trailing markers

ACCESS TO CPMM (RER100) FOR DATA DOWNLOAD

To download the recorded train data stored in CPMM you need to connect a PC with RDVT software installed by means of Ethernet RJ45 cross cable. In order to download data from CPMM, RER100 must be in maintenance mode (turning the maintenance key as shown in figure above) and the software must be accessed in Level 2/ Level 3.
