SECTION 01005 SUMMARY OF WORK / ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS CONTRACT 3 PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 REQUIRDIENTS INCLUDED A. B. C. D. E. F. Title of Work/Scope of Work.

1.02 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The construction of the OASIS has been subdivided into three (3) separate construction contracts The scope of each Contract is as shown on the Drawings, described in Specifications, Schedules, Bills of Quantities and other tender documents and is briefly summarized as follows: CONTRACT 1 Site: Concrete: Metals : (Steel work) Roofing: Finishes: External Works: General excavation, and filling to access toad and under footprint of Main Building and Auditoria. cast in place concrete including access road and CRC screens, PC cladding. Structural steelwork and road balustrades Tents and miscellaneous waterproofing to elevated access road. Miscellaneous paving etc. to access road. Excavation, filling, hard and soft landscape, retaining walls and miscellaneous small buildings outside building footprint. Management and coordination of all work including Contracts 2 and 3.

Mechanical and Public Health works to Main Building, Auditoria and all of Site. Electrical works/installations to Main Building, Auditoria and all of site.

Baseboards, cappings, nosings, cills etc Blockwork. Flat roof covering and miscellaneous waterproofing. Architectural metals plus ladders, hatches etc. Doors, windows, screens. Floor, wall and ceiling finishes including suspended ceilings. Accessories, mirrors, vanitory units, specialty signaqe, demountable partitions etc.

Contracts 1, 2 and will be awarded (indepently of each other) to separate contracts, or to the sane contractor, at the discretion Dr the Employer. In addition to the tender documents for Contract 3, key drawings for Contracts 1 and 2 are being issued to contractors tendering for contract 3, for information only, to indicate the extent and scope of Contracts I and 2. Tenderers shall include in their tenders for all work required to complete Contract 3 Additionally tenderers for contract I shall include in their tenders for all costs in connection with co-ordinating with the Contractor for Contract 1 who will be responsible for the overall management, scheduling and co-ordination of all three contracts comprising the complete construction of the OASIS. Tile Management, Scheduling and Coordination responsibility of the Contractor for Contract I will include the management, organization, supervision and securing of the carrying out and completion of the work before the date for completion or other such date as nay be fixed under the Conditions of Contract) includin9, but not limited to the following:

1.03 PLANNING AND PRGRAMMING A. B. Maintaining and regularly updating the detailed construction programme for the project, including the work of other Contractors. Preparing and regularly updating material and component flows and advising on priorities for ordering and processing, and information requirements.

1.04 CONTRACT 2 AND CONTRACT 3 PROGRAMMING / PLANNING A. The Contractor for contract 1 shall submit a detailed work programme within sixty (60) days of the signing of the contract. The programme shall include both the

Contractors detailed work programme for contract 1, and outline programmes for both contract 2 and contract 3. B. The outline programmes for Contract 2 and contract 3 will form part of the tender documentation for Contracts 2 and 3, and subsequently Contract documents for Contracts 2 and 3, Upon award of the Contract. The outline programmes shall indicate all key stages and dates within the overall programme, as well as the proposed phasing and order of construction.

1.05 MONITORING OTHER CONTRACTORS OFF-SITE PREPARATION WORK A. B. Monitoring progress of the design work and working drawings of other Contractors and suppliers and reporting to the Architect/Engineer. Making regular visits to the work places of the other Contractors and suppliers to inspect quality, progress and delivery in relation to the detailed construction programme and reporting to the Architect/Engineer. Reporting regularly to the Architect/Engineer on progress and technical aspects of all contracts placed with other Contractors.

1.06 INSTITUTING EFFECTIVE COST CONTROL AND PAYMENT DISCIPLINES A. B. C. Assisting in preparation of financial reports in formats and frequencies to be agreed by the Employer on actual and projected costs. Instituting a system of documentation and records for recording the performance of all Works in a form acceptable to the Architect/Engineer. Instituting operational reports in formats and frequencies acceptable to the Architect/Engineer on the physical progress or all Works.

1.07 ESTABLISHING GOOD LABOUR RELATIONS PROCEDURES A. B. C. Advising the Architect/Engineer on all matters relating to employment legislation and labour relating including any issues that may arise. Ensuring that the other Contractors labour relations policies and procedures conform to the best practices. Coordination with other Contractors and instituting site procedures so that any labour relations matters on the project may be fully monitored and influenced.

1.08 SITE MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY CONTROL A. B. C. D. Establishing on site all necessary management personnel with full responsibility to manage and coordinate the project in close liaison with the Architect/Engineer. Setting out the project. Checking and coordination the setting out of all other Contracts. Coordinating and expediting all site works carried out by other contractors.

Monitoring the performance of other Contractors against the detailed construction program to enable corrective action to be taken to prevent stoppages and delays. Ensuring that other Contractors make good any damage caused by them to the site facilities. Securing the prompt remedying of defects by other Contractors after substantial/practical completion of their Works as referred to in the relevant clauses of the Contract Conditions. Ensuring that the site is run in a clean, proper and efficient manner, having due regard to the occupation of premises adjacent to or near the site, that the working areas are kept clean during the progress of the work and that debris is removed as it arises and at completion of the Project. Establishing with the Architect/Engineer any requirements of the Employer for partial possession and/or sectional completion and coordinating all other Contracts to effect suitable sequence at completion.

1.09 CONTROLLING AND REPORTING OF PERFORMANCE A. B. Maintaining the documentation of the performance of other Contractors in a manner acceptable to the Architect/Engineer. Reporting on physical progress of the construction and the off-site work of other Contractors in the formats in the format and with the frequency acceptable to the Architect/Engineer. Maintaining records of quality tests or opening up for inspection required by the Architect/Engineer. Maintaining records of weather and site conditions necessary for administration of the Project. Securing provision of record drawings from other Contractors as required. Arranging and keeping records of site meetings as required by the Architect/Engineer.

1.10 COORDINATION A. Coordinate work of the various sections of specifications to assure efficient and orderly sequence or installation of construction elements, with provisions for accommodating items to be installed Later. verify characteristics of elements of interrelated operating equipment are compatible; coordinate work of various Sections having interdependent responsibilities for installing, connecting to, and placing in service, such equipment. Coordinate space requirements and installation of mechanical and electrical work which are indicated diagrammatically on drawings. Follow routing shown for pipes, ducts, and conduits, as closely as practicable; make runs parallel with lines of building. utilize spaces efficiently to maximize accessibility for other installations, for maintenance, and for repairs.

in finished areas except as otherwise shown, conceal pipes, ducts, and wiring in the construction, Coordinate locations of fixtures and outlets with finish elements. Execute cutting and patching to integrate elements of work, uncover i11-timed defective, and non-conforming work, provide openings for penetrations of existing surfaces, and provide samples for testing. Seal penetrations through floors, walls, and ceilings.

1.11 FIELD ENGINEERING A. B. provide field engineering services; establish grades. lines, and levels, by use of recognized engineering survey practices. Control datum for survey is that shown on Drawings. Locate and protect control and reference points.

1.12 APPLICABLE STANDARDS A. For products specified by association or trade standards, comply with requirements of the standard except when more rigid requirements are specified or are required by applicable codes. The date of the standard is that in effect as of the Bid date, or date of OwnerContractor Agreement when there are no bids, except when a specific date is specified. Obtain copies of standards when required by Contract Documents. Maintain copy at jobsite during progress of the specific work.

PART 5 - PAYMENT 5.01 PAYMENT A. The work shall be measured and payment shall be made in accordance with the requirements stated in Bill No 1 - preliminaries and General Requirements.
