1 JOB SUMMARY
The position holder for the above position will, as part of a team, will provide support to the Boeing Defence Australia Systems, analytical support, and improvement of processes with particular emphasis on maintaining and evolving Engineering Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. In addition, the position holder will be responsible to gather and evaluate end user requirements, modify or upgrade applications to maintain software functionality, design and test systems, review system performance and recommend improvements and identify and resolve application problems.
2 ACCOUNTABILITIES
Establishing a level of professional knowledge of the PLM system in a reasonable period that can be used and relied upon by the rest of the team. Analyses end user business processes to provide solutions to facilitate desired objectives. Meets with end users to define requirements for software applications. Supports the evaluation of moderately complex commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products and current Boeing products by testing and benchmarking for solutions to requirements. Performs moderately complex integrations of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products and Boeing software solutions with existing systems and processes to meet end users requirements, utilizin g IT lifecycle methodologies and tools. Develops and executes systems, integration, performance and acceptance test plans and procedures to verify that the solution meets the requirements. Analyses, identifies and dispositions defects as required. Proposes recommendations to address discrepancies and issues in moderately complex systems. Develops and executes the implementation plan. Modifies or upgrades software solutions to maintain software functionality. Determines changes to the infrastructure based on regulatory environment, defect resolution, new requirements and/or COTS upgrades. Analyses user issues and requests in assigned areas of responsibility by documenting, validating, researching potential solutions and resolving service requests for resolution of moderately complex issues. Assists less experienced team members with problem resolution. Provide day-to-day second/third level support of IT systems by facilitating access, deploying requirements, enhancements, extensions, root cause analysis and associated processes in a timely manner.

3 KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Besides direct relationships within the BDA IM&T Systems Support team, the position holder will maintain relationships with BDA IM&T Senior Manager as Enrolled Manager for the position BDA IM&T Systems Manager Communicates and develops strong working relationships, as required, with Boeing Defence Australia staff, Boeing US staff and the greater Boeing Company. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key business stakeholders and various working groups, including external vendors.

7 SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential criteria Knowledge: Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Possesses general knowledge of other related disciplines.
Knowledge of a variety of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Problem Solving: Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
Proven ability to conduct business analysis in a complex business environment. Discretion: Impact: Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results, reaching erroneous decisions or making recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources. Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Demonstrated ability to prepare reports to identify issues, discuss options and recommend actions. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Liaison:
Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills that facilitates interaction between IT team members and key internal and external customer/stakeholder groups and users. Typical Education/Experience: IT degree (or similar) and typically 2-5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other specific criteria: The ability to undertake adhoc tasks out of hours and available to be rostered for on-call duties when required. Ability to obtain a Defence Security clearance to SECRET or above. Desirable criteria Demonstrated knowledge business systems and applications used across a large and complex business environment especially withing an Engineering process type organisation. Project co-ordination and/or project management experience. Experience or qualification in PLM system for example eMatrix or Enovia. Experience in C/C++ programming and Java an advantage. Certification or knowledge of ITIL processes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Boeing Defence Australia specific site positions will have physical requirements which are applicable. Physical requirements are outlined by the recruitment manager in consultation with the Occupational Health & Safety Department. A formal assessment of the physical requirements will need to be completed through the Occupational Health & Safety Department for specific roles which would then reflect into the position description.
