Getting Started

HEAT is easily installed using the HEAT Installation Wizard, a step-by-step guide for easy navigation. Simply follow the directions located below, and on the windows and dialog boxes. You can cancel the installation and exit the Wizard at any time. System requirements are listed below. You must install the HEAT evaluation version in accordance with these system requirements to operate successfully. Your existing system may meet the minimum requirements; however, for best performance additional requirements are recommended and noted.

Installing the HEAT Evaluation System

Important: In order to install the HEAT Evaluation System before you begin you must have Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP operating successfully on your computer. Because the files are compressed, you must use the setup program to install the HEAT Evaluation System.

To Install the HEAT Service & Support Evaluation System

1. Close all open applications on your computer. 2. Insert the HEAT Evaluation System CD into your CD drive. Note: The HEAT installation CD is NOT set up to auto run when inserted into your CD-ROM drive. If the main window does not appear, select Run from the Start menu and then type x:\setup.exe (where x is the drive letter of your CD drive). The HEAT Installation Welcome window appears. If the installer prompts to install an Adminstrators image, select No. 3. Click Next to proceed. The Software License Agreement dialog box appears. 4. Read the Evaluation License Agreement (ELA). If you agree to the terms of this license agreement, select I accept the terms of the above license agreement, and also select the two check boxes beneath that statement: I am an authorized agent and/or representative of the customer/end-user, and I have read the terms and conditions stated above. Click Next. The Setup Type dialog box appears. 5. Select Custom and then click Next. The Destination Folder dialog box appears. Note: The Typical installation only installs Call Logging and Alert Monitor (the applications of the HEAT System that are used by most users). To install the Administration tools, select Custom and then click Next.
