TUTORIAL
Suggested Activities: In groups, select one lesson plan and analyse the suitability of the following: - learning outcome - stages of the lesson, - integration of language skills, - language content, - activities. Justify your answer and present the analysis.

Read Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia. (2003). Huraian Sukatan Kurikulum Baru Sekolah Rendah (KBSR) Bahasa Inggeris. Access information on Malaysian educational emphases on the internet.

In groups, select a topic/theme from the Huraian Sukatan Kurikulum Bersepadu Sekolah Rendah and suggest activities to incorporate educational emphases for the topic/theme.

In groups, compile a list of the following and present them: - Listening activities - Speaking activities - Integrated listening and speaking activities. Briefly describe how to conduct at least one listening and speaking activity. In groups, analyse test items in sample UPSR exam papers.

Workshop: Grammar In groups, design activities to teach grammar using the overt and covert approaches for micro-teaching. Micro-teach at least one activity to teach grammar. Provide peer evaluation and feedback.

In groups, compare and contrast the overt and covert approaches to teach grammar. Describe at least two techniques and activities for teaching grammar.

Workshop: Reading I Write lesson plans to teach reading. Prepare suitable materials using ICT to carry out reading activities in the lesson plan. Use literary texts to plan and design appropriate activities. Micro-teach at least one reading activity. Provide peer evaluation and feedback.

TUTORIAL
In groups, analyse samples of lesson plans on teaching reading and discuss the suitability of the activities.

Workshop: Reading II In groups, prepare test specifications for assessing reading skills. Build language test items: - Multiple Choice Question - Blank Filling - Text Completion - Structured Question In groups, prepare a reading lesson and microteach the whole lesson using suitable teaching aids. Provide peer evaluation and feedback.

In groups, design at least one activity for teaching vocabulary, spelling and dictation. Present your groups activities. Provide peer evaluation and feedback.

Workshop: Writing Write lesson plans for teaching writing. Prepare activities to teach writing. Use literary texts to plan and design appropriate activities. Design remedial and enrichment activities for writing. Present remedial and enrichment activities for the teaching of writing Provide peer evaluation and feedback.

In groups, devise at least one writing activity to assess writing skills. Present your groups activities. Provide peer evaluation and feedback.

Workshop: Literature In groups, write a lesson plan to teach literature with suitable activities including remedial and enrichment activities. Use literary texts suggested in the School Curriculum. Design test items to assess literature.

Micro-teach the literature lesson prepared in the literature workshop. Provide peer evaluation and feedback.

In groups, write a lesson plan integrating all the four language skills. Conduct macro teaching of the four language skills Reflect on strengths and weaknesses. Discuss ways of improving teaching.
