This is the welcome screen of our Online Application System (OAS).

You login by filling in your email address (the one you used for your Studielink application!!) and password and press the button user login. If you have forgotten your password, you can find separate instructions on our howtoapply page.

The login leads you to the welcome page with instructions. Please read this page carefully! The I-buttons will provide you with extra information about the kind of details that are asked for in a specific field.

Press the button application in the left menu bar to start your OAS application.

Click the button Edit and you will get to this screen:

Please do not change your address details in this screen, as it will be overwritten by an automatic update every night by the details that you have filled in in Studielink. Any changes in address or programme therefore have to be altered in Studielink. These changes will be transported from Studielink to OAS every night. Please fill in your emergency contact details and your correspondence address plus answer the residence permit question and press the button save and continue.

That will lead you to this screen, in which you will have to fill in your accommodation situation. Again press the button save and continue.

Fill in your academic background. If you have more than one degree, please fill all of them into the system, so your credentials can be best verified by the admission officers. Also for master students, we strongly encourage you to provide us with your high school information as well. You can add as many degrees as you have by pressing the button add another degree.

As soon as all your education has been filled in, you press the button save and continue. This will lead you to step 5, where you will have to fill in your language proficiency.

Please fill in all the languages that you are proficient in, plus the qualifications of that proficiency. When completed, again click save and continue.

When filling in the details about the programme(s) that you are applying to, please do not change the information in the green fields. This, like your address details, is transported directly from Studielink nightly. Any changes in these details need to be altered in Studielink. If applicable choose your specialization and the starting semester/month. Press the button save and continue.

You now get to the scholarship section. Please fill in all scholarships that you are planning on applying to. This does NOT affect the admission decision. All files are assessed on the basis of their merits, not on the financial situation of a student. It does, however, allow the admission officers to make correct lists when they have to select students for scholarships, etc. If you have not indicated here that you are applying for scholarships, your name will not be included in the list of applicants for these scholarships!

With regard to the Huygens Scholarship Programme (HSP): only advanced bachelor students and master students can apply for this scholarship. The status of scholarships of the University of Groningen and the Dutch government should always be in process. Fill in all scholarships you are applying to and press the button save and continue.

This leads you to step 8, where you can upload all documents to support your application.

* NB. Please be aware that uploaded documents may not exceed 2 MB!

Upload the documents by clicking the button browse in each section. You can also indicate that you would like to send it in by post, upload it later or that it is not applicable. Only use this last option if you are certain that the programme you are applying to is exempting you from such requirement. It is, ultimately, up to the admission officers to decide upon this though. You need to indicate this choice for every item in the list and upload the documents at every item as well. When complete, press the button upload and continue. Please do not press this button too early, as it will lead you to the next step!

If there are other documents that you would like to add, in order to strengthen your application, you can upload them in step 9. Some programmes ask for course descriptions, which can also be uploaded here. When complete, again press the button upload and continue.

Step 10 is a survey about your decision to apply and whether or not you would like to be kept informed about the University of Groningen.

Please fill in the survey and press the button save and continue.

Step 11 allows you to review your details. Please check them thoroughly!

If anything is incorrect, you can simply correct it by clicking the button of that particular step in the left menu.

In order to be able to submit your application, all steps should have been ticked off by the red tick that is visible before each step. If one is missing, like step 5 in this example, you can return to that step by clicking on that step in the left menu.

You can correct/add what is need and press the button save and continue on that particular page.

You go back to step 12 by pressing that button in the left menu.

Read the note carefully and then tick the box I understand the points above and am prepared to submit my application to the University of Groningen. Press the button submit. Without clicking this button, the admission officers are not allowed to start processing your file, so please dont forget!

Once you have pressed the button submit, you will see this screen, which refers you to the status view page. You can get there by either clicking the button go to status view page or clicking view status in the left menu.

In the meantime, an email to confirm the fact that you have submitted your file will be sent to your email address. This might, as it is an automated response, end up in your spambox/junkmail folder though.

As from the submission of your application, you can check your status at any time on the status view page of OAS. Besides emails from the admission officers, this page will also keep you informed about your status at any time.
