Introduction
The final step in order processing is shipping product to the customer. Shipping product reduces the balance on hand in the warehouse and creates a withdrawal transaction, which can be viewed from the inventory transaction screen. Picked items are usually brought to some place in the warehouse where they are loaded onto a truck, manifested (identified on a transportation document), or packed. The items are then shipped, reducing inventory balances. Shipments can occur in SSA Warehouse Management 4000 using the following methods: At the order level At the Pick order detail level At the Wave level At the Drop ID level In the Mass Ship Orders screen In the Mass Ship Pick Detail screen

Shipping is the other function supported by consolidation. It allows the RF user to ship at either the case ID or drop ID levels. These updates simply update the associated pick detail lines. Once all pick detail lines on an order have been shipped, whether by the workstation or the RF, the order status is automatically updated to Shipped status. Below are some common examples why RF Shipping (Consolidation) would be required: The refrigerated portion of a warehouses orders is shipped on a refrigerated trailer. The ambient portion is shipped on a dry box. As a result, the warehouse may be required to only ship a portion of the load. The warehouse picks into plastic tote boxes, which are then palletized for final shipment. Detailed records of the contents of each pallet created must be maintained. A warehouse utilizes both Crossdock and regular order selection to supply its customers. Once merchandise has arrived, it needs to be consolidated for final shipment. Log on to the RF screen. From the RF main menu, select Pick/Shipping. Select RF Ship 1.
