Sub Module UT(PH) 1

1. M e t h od 1) This module will be completed through self-learning process and a group discussion. 2) Divide class in to 4 groups. Each group has a topic to solve, which are: a. Group 1: Benign Prostate Hypertrophy b. Group 2: Urinary Tract Infection c. Group 3: Kidney Stone d. Group 4: Renal Hypertension 3) Prior to the group discussion, each student is expected to learn the topic in order to have a basic understanding about the health issue presented in this module. 4) Students fill out the module-tasks individually by using relevant references (student may use reference list provided in the end of this module) 5) In the class discussion, each group should present their findings and opinions regarding the module-tasks. During class discussion, groups may use any relevant references. 6) The results of discussion should be well written in power point presentation, submitted to the facilitator and present in front of class. 2. O b j e c t i v e s At the conclusion of this module successful students will be able to: Identify risk factors of the disease according to Blums theory (environmental, health services, bio-psycho-socio-cultural status, lifestyle) Identify the epidemiologic description (based on person, place, time) of each disease Provide example about three level or prevention actions (primary, secondary, tertiary) of each disease for individual, family and community Identify the evaluation objective, indicator and measurement strategy to evaluate the successful implementation of the three level prevention action

3. O v e r v i e w The aim of public health action is to improve quality of life by means of health promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. To start with, the understanding about specific characteristic of the health problems in terms of its risk factors, epidemiology descriptions, is of paramount importance to develop the public health action. The most weaknesses in health program implementation are not the well written plan of action but lack of monitoring and evaluation. This module is focusing on developing the evaluation plan and its indicator to monitor the implementation and progress of any public health intervention.

4. M o d u l T a s k Task 1. Briefly explain the risk factor of the disease according to Blums theory (environmental, health services, bio-psycho-socio-cultural status, lifestyle). Your group can draw it in a scheme to explain it.

Task 3. Provide example three level or prevention actions (primary, secondary, tertiary) of each disease for community

Primary prevention

Secondary Early Detection

Task 4. Please identify the objective of your prevention action (related to task three) in term of input process output and outcome Based Prompt Task 5. onTreatment the program objective (task 4) please determine the indicator to measure the achievement of each objective. The selection of the indicator must consider the feasibility and reliability when measuring the indicator Task 6. Describe, who will evaluate, when to evaluate and why?
