II. Mission Activities at St. Francis Xaviers Church The Salesian community at St. Francis Xaviers caters to the faith formation of the faithful in the parish. There is also a nursery and matriculation school catering to the poor and deserving Catholic children of the parish and the locality.

STATISTICAL DETAILS OF THE MISSION i. St. Francis Xaviers Church: St. Francis Xaviers Church is also known as the Mary Help of Christians Shrine. Total number of registered Catholic families: 660 Nature of the parish population: Mostly middle class, few upper middle class, a sizeable number of lower middle class and quite a number of poor families. Total number of anbiams: 32 anbiams; one of the anbiam is of the Anglo-Indian community. Sub-station: Annai Velankanni Church, Clive Battery a. Regular Mass & Liturgical Services in the Parish: Weekday Mass: Mass in Anbiams: Saturdays: Sundays: 06.00 am & 06.30 pm 07.15 pm on Monday to Friday. 11.00 am for the Pilgrims Mass is offered for the Neo Catechumenate community 06.00 am & 07.30 am Tamil mass for the people 07.30am for the Catechism children 08.45 am Annai Velankanni Substation at Clive Battery 09.15 am Mass in English 06.00 pm Mass in Tamil

ii. Dominic Savio Matriculation School: Dominic Savio Matriculation School and nursery school has a total strength of 630 students, from LKG to Std. X. This is a coeducation school with 373 boys and 257 girls. Among them only 85 are Catholics, the rest are Hindus and Muslims.
