ICAT14 VENUE Kozhikode also known as Calicut, is a city in the state of Kerala in southern India on the Malabar Coast. The district of Kozhikode has a unique place among other regions of Kerala. It was here that Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese navigator set foot in 1498, resulting in the beginning of close trade relationships with European powers, which later led to the establishment of their power in Kerala. The district was the former capital of the powerful Zamorins and is known for its beautiful beaches, historic monuments, unique culture and many more. National Institute of Technology campus is situated at chathamangalam, 22 km north east of Kozhikode on the Kozhikode-Mukkam road. It was established in 1961 and was known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) until 2002. it is one of the National Institutes of Technology established by the Government of India for imparting high standard technical education to students from all over the country.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The main objective of the conference is to provide a unique opportunity of presenting and discussing recent developments in different aspects of Tribology and strengthen the linkage between academia and industry. The conference consists of scientific sessions, symposia on specific topics, exhibitions and various collateral events. Groups of experts will have chance to share information and get in touch with other groups and a special attention is also given to Bio-Tribology and Eco-Tribology. Nowadays these aspects are becoming more and more important both in respect of human life and environment. It is with this background that the ICAT14 has been organized from February 21st to 24th 2014.
