Variant Configuration (D31): Configuration Guide 1 Purpose


This configuration guide provides the information you need to set up the configuration of this building block manually. If you do not want to configure manually and prefer an automated installation process using BC Sets and other tools, refer to the installation guide of this building block. This building block provides customizing settings needed for processing the Variant Configuration (D31).

2 Preparation
2.1 Prerequisites
Before using this building block, you also need to install the following building blocks: Building Block Layer 0 D30 Description All layer 0 building blocks (for Baseline Package DE) CO - Settings

3 Configuration
3.1 Customizing
3.1.1 Use
In this step you define a characteristic group for LSP. This will be a prerequisite for the characteristics created later in this building block.

Define Characteristic Groups

Procedure
1. To access this activity, choose: Transaction code IMG path SPRO Cross Application Components Classification System Characteristics Define Characteristics Groups

2. On the Change view Characteristic Groups: Overview screen choose New Entries (F5). 3. Enter the following data: Group Chars Group 4. Save your entries. LSP Characteristics for LSP

3.1.2 Use

Define Class Groups

The characteristics used in the Variant Configuration are assigned to classes. In this step you will define theses classes.

Procedure
1. To access this activity, choose: Transaction code IMG path SPRO Cross Application Components Classification System Classes Define Class Groups

2. On the Change View Class Groups : Overview screen choose New Entries (F5). 3. Enter the following data: Group Class Group 4. Save your entries LSP Characteristics for LSP

3.1.3 Use

Define Dependency Group

The main item of the Variant Configuration ist the knowledge of dependencies. In this step you will configure the group for the dependencies used for LSP.

Procedure
1. To access the activity use the following navigation: Transaction code IMG Path SPRO Logistics - General Variant Configuration Dependencies Define Groups

2. On the Change View Dependency Group: Overview screen choose New Entries.

3. On the New Entries: Overiew of Added Entries screen enter the following data: Dep. Group Description 4. Save your entries. LSP Dependencies for LSP

3.2 Master Data


3.2.1 Use
The Variant Configuration will work for LSP. This industry sector will be created in this step.

Define Industry Sector

Procedure
1. To access this activity use the following navigation: Transaction code IMG Menu SPRO Logistics - General Material Master Field Selection Define Industry Sectors and Industry-Sector-Specific Field Selection

2. On the Change View Industry Sectors: Overview screen choose New Entries (F5). 3. Enter the following data: Industry sector Industry description Field Reference 3 Service Provider A

3.2.2 Use

Define Account Assignment Group Materials

In this step the you will define the accont assignment. This is relevant for the transfer to CO.

Procedure
1. To access the activity use the following navigation: Transaction Code IMG Path SPRO Sales and Distribution Basic Functions Account Assignment/Costing Revenue Account Determination Check Master Data Relevant For Account Assignment

2. On the Choose Activity screen doubleclick on Materials: Account Assignment Groups. 3. On the Change View Materials: Account Assignment Groups: Overview screen choose New Entries (F5).
