The band was called Sleze, Alice N Chains, Diamond Lie and then Alice in Chains. Mike Starr was the longtime bassist before Mike Inez. Contrary to popular belief, Alice In Chains aren't just grunge. Among all the bands involved with the whole American grunge take over, Alice In Chains have always been the most metallic. Layne Staley passed away due to an overdose of heroin and cocaine in 2002. The band has reformed for a few festival dates and a possible tour. While there has been some talk of a new album, at the moment no details about it are known.

Started as an atmospheric black metal side-project of Sverd and Hellhammer, who were also playing in a death metal band called Mortem (Nor). Later on, they evolved into an avantgarde band. yvind Hgeland left the band on January 5th due to work commitments. Simen Hestns officially rejoined Arcturus on January 15, 2005.

Oliver Holzwarth (Sieges Even) has for all intents and purposes been the fifth member of Blind Guardian since "Nightfall In MiddleEarth," but has not been officially added to the line-up in case Hansi should decide he wants to start playing bass again in the future. Thomen Stauch left in 2005 after 22 years claiming dissatisfaction with the direction the band had taken on their two most recent albums.

The band started out in 1993 by Lord Ahriman and Blackmoon. A year later after they had released the debut MCD ``Dark Funeral`` (which was re-released again with different cover art, title and bonus songs) they signed on with No Fashion Records. On No Fashion they continued to release albums but later joined Regain Records. Former member Equimanthorn is NOT the same guy who now plays in Pest (Swe) Not to be confused with a Danish band called ``Dark Funeral``, which released a demo called `Ìn Thy Forest`` 1993 with keyboard-ambient-sound only. The Swedish band Dark Funeral
here never recorded a demo,

The band was originally called Amon (US), and recorded two demos under this name, which were later released on CD as "Amon Feasting The Beast." They changed the name to Deicide in 1990, shortly before the release of the self-titled debut.

Many credit Macabre as being one of the first bands to play a style of music which would influence death metal. They weren't really a death metal band themselves but their lyrical content and grindcore sounds furthered what would become death metal.
Macabre has been known to refer to their style of music as ``murder metal`` which is also the name of their 2003 full-length album. Corporate Death interviewed serial killers Jeffrey Dahmer (for the "Dahmer"-album) and John Wayne Gacy while they were still alive. C.D. also withnessed Gacy's trial and took notes for lyrics.

Will Rahmer was Incantation's vocalist during the period John McEntee played in Mortician. The band has an obsession with horror and scifi movies, which is where their main influences comes from lyric wise. In every album, they use stock sample footage from movies on about every track. From 1986 - 1989 the band was called Damage. In 1989 they changed their name to Morgana Lefay. In '97, Morgana Lefay split up. Persson, Heder and Soderling kept the name, but changed style completely. Rytknen and Eriksson were joined by members from Fantasmagoria, and continued under the name Lefay.
In September of 2004 Lefay resigned with Black Mark and regained the rights to use their full name.

The godfathers of the black metal genre (along with Mercyful Fate). This is due in part to releasing an album with the name Black Metal. Although they pioneered the name, they don't necessarily play black metal music as we know it today.
