Description
1 Genera|
This manual has been prepared using the Aerospace Specification S1000D and is assembled
from Data Modules (DM), which are written in AECMA Simplified English (SE).
The maintenance manual gives instructions for maintenance personnel to service and main-
tain the PC-12 Series aircraft. A PC-12, PC-12/45 or a PC-12/47 Series aircraft can be identi-
fied by referring to the Aircraft ldentification Plate installed aft of the cargo door and shown in
DMC 12-A-11-20-00-00A-040A-A. The maintenance manual provides sufficient information to in-
spect, fault isolate and to complete the removal/installation and test/adjustment of equipment as
well as the repair of certain systems. To provide as complete as coverage as possible, optional
equipment has been included in the manual.
lnformation which is beyond the scope of this manual may be found in the following manuals:
- lllustrated Parts Catalog
- Wiring Diagram Manual
- Structural Repair Manual
- Vendor Publications
lt is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that the latest revision of the manual is used for
servicing and maintenance of the aircraft.
lf it is necessary to contact Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. about your aircraft, it is important to include the
aircraft serial number in any correspondence. The serial number can be found on the manufac-
turers data placard, the location of the placard is given in DMC 12-A-11-20-00-00A-040A-A.
Use only parts that have been approved and certified by Pilatus and obtained from Pilatus ap-
proved sources for maintenance on the aircraft. Salvaged or reworked parts obtained from non
Pilatus approved sources are unsuitable and unsafe for use on the aircraft.
ln the event that the aircraft should be maintained and/or operated with parts and/or compo-
nents which are not approved by the seller and/or its supplier and vendor, all warranties will be
rendered null and void upon installation of such parts and/or components. Pilatus expressly dis-
claims any and all liability including but not limited to liability for any loss or damage to prop-
erty, injury or death, in association with any and all malfunctions and/or incidents and/or acci-
dents involving such non approved parts and/or components.
Vendor component maintenance publications and repair procedures given in Component Mainte-
nance Manuals (CMM) can be used. These manuals should be obtained direct from the manu-
facturer or his distributor. The address of component manufacturers can be found in the intro-
duction of the lllustrated Parts Catalog. The available Pilatus component maintenance manuals
are:

2 IETP Rev|s|ons
This Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) is part of the lnteractive Electronic Technical Publica-
tion (lETP) set on the DVD, Document No. 02216. Regular revisions to the lETP set will be
done to correct, change and add new information from Service Bulletins etc. The lETP revised
information will be issued as a new replacement DVD. The DVD label will be identified with the
latest Revision No. lETP. DVDs from the previous revision must then be destroyed. The open-
ing statement on the DVD will show the lETP Revision No. lt will also show the revision sta-
tus of the equivalent paper copies of the manuals that are contained in the lETP set. The Re-
vision Highlights will give a brief summary of the changes to the chapter topics and temporary
revisions that have been included. Changed information will be shown on a blue background by
the lETP viewer software.
The Record of Service Bulletins will be updated at each revision to show all Service Bulletins
that have been issued and their lETP inclusion date if applicable.
Revisions are issued when the lETP must be revised between normal regular revisions. They
are issued on yellow paper and must be kept in a folder which is to be made available to the
maintenance personnel when working with the lETP DVD.
3 Paper Manua| Rev|s|ons
When necessary, new or replacement pages will be issued to keep the manual up to date. All
pages of each revised data module are issued in a revision. This is to make the incorporation
of the revision into the manual simpler, i.e. remove a complete data module, insert a complete
data module. Revised data modules will have revision marks in the left margin will be included
to show the changes made to the topic. New topics will not have revision marks and the re-
vision highlights will show that they are at initial issue. Each revision is supplied with a Trans-
mittal Letter which details the pages which are to be removed and those replaced, or initially
issued by the revision. The Transmittal Letter also gives revision Highlights which give a brief
summary of the changes to the chapter topics, new topics initial issues and the temporary revi-
sions that have been included.
The incorporation of the revision is recorded on the Record of Revisions table (refer to DM 12-
A-00-00-00-00A-004A-A) and the removal of temporary revisions is recorded on the Record of
Temporary Revisions table (refer to DM 12-A-00-00-00-00A-006A-A).
The Record of Service Bulletins will be updated at each revision to show all Service Bulletins
that have been issued and their maintenance effect incorporation date in the manual if applica-
ble.
Temporary revisions are issued when the manual must be revised between normal regular re-
visions. They are issued on yellow paper and must be filed in the position given on their front
sheet. The incorporation of temporary revisions is recorded on the Record of Temporary Revi-
sions. Temporary revisions must only be removed from the manual when instructed on a trans-
mittal letter or when superseded by a new temporary revision.
The date on the page shows the date of issue. When changes are made to a topic the page
date of the whole topic is changed to the date of the revision at which it is issued.
4 Warn|ngs, Caut|ons and Notes
These are used to stress important items in the text. Warnings and Cautions come immediate-
ly before the text to which they refer. Notes are put after the text to which they refer. The us-
es are given below:

The Model ldentification Code (MlC) is a number that identifies the data in the DM as PC-12.
5.2 System D|fference Code
The System Difference Code (SDC) can change to show a variant of an item in the same sys-
tem. The SDC change is an indication that it is a different installation. For example it could
have a different Manufacturer or the function is different.
5.3 Standard Number|ng System
The Standard Numbering System (SNS) code contains three pairs of digits that identify the
chapter, section and subject of the DM.
5.4 D|sassemb|y code
The Disassembly code (DC) shows the level in that SNS.
5.5 D|sassemb|y code var|ant
The Disassembly code variant shows an alternative or a different design. The difference is not
sufficient to change the SDC.
5.6 Informat|on Code
The lnformation Code (lC) displays the type of information in the DM. The information codes
used in this manual are:
- 040 - Description and Operation
