Dr. L. Mahadevan is an author, public speaker, TV personality and master Ayurvedic physician. He currently serves as the Director of Sri Sarada ayurvedic hospital and spearheads all its medical and pharmaceutical activities. Dr. L. Mahadevan has been dedicating himself to popularizing Ayurveda across the globe since 1997, having given consultations and taken more than 1000 lectures and workshops in many countries. He has immense pleasure while teaching. He was born in a small village called Derisanamcope, Kanyakumari dist in the year of 1969. I belong to a traditional Ayurvedic Family. My grandfather, Dr. Y. Mahadeva Iyer, was a renowned Sanskrit and Vedic scholar and a successful Ayurvedic physician. He established a reputed Ayurvedic hospital (Sri Sarada Ayurvedic Hospital) at Kanyakumari District, the lands end of India. Running an eighty three year old hospital in a village in Derisanamcope, Kanyakumari Dist, Tamil Nadu, India. Used to see 70 to 80 cases per day. Has 25 inpatient facilities. Manufactures 150 forms of Medicines. Does all Kriyas in inpatient ward. Dr. L. Mahadevans Ayurvedic foundation has specifically designed clinical curriculum that integrates ancient ayurvedic tradition with modern clinical medicine with high standards, to consciously integrate the sciences and spirituality together which infuses its academics with ideals, skill with philosophy, practical training, contemplative insights, textual study with personal experience of medication, treatment and analysis Dr. L. Mahadevan like his grand father is dispensed with the qualities of sympathy, compassion and philanthropy and so felt the need in forming this trust, Sri Sarada Mahadeva Iyer Ayurvedic educational and charitable Trust with noble intensions to promote and develop the system as well as helping the needy people whether in education or other social aspects. He finished his MD in kaya chikitsa from Trivandrum university with high academic credentials. He is an expert in treating the so-called incurable diseases, in Pharmacology and Guna Siddhanta. He is also the pioneer in applying modern technology to the ancient science of Ayurveda. At Sri Sarada Ayurvedic Hospital Pharmacy (manufacturing unit), he has developed over 500 classical ayurvedic medicines He has written more than 50 books in ayurveda and siddha. and dozens of DVD videos on health problems, Dr. L. Mahadevan teaches Ayurveda both at his Gurukulam as well as in other countries. He is a regular contributor to several international health periodicals and magazines. Mahadeva Iyer was helped in his practice by his sons, Mr. Lakshmana Sarma, Mr. Venkatasubramani, Mr. Hari, his nephew Dr. S. Ramakrishnan and grandson Dr. K.

Chidambaram (daughters son) who graduated from the Government Ayurvedic college, Kerala. Dr. L. Mahadevan, grandson (Mr. Lakshmanan's son) joined the institution in 1996. He graduated from Madras university in Ayurveda with a rank and completed his Postgraduation in the Government Ayurvedic College, Trivandrum in 1996. During his tenure in Chennai, Dr. Mahadevan got the golden opportunity to study the Sastras and the Rasa style of treatment under the guidance of Dr. Vaidyanathan . Dr. Vaidyanathan impressed Mahadevan in each and every stage of his study and Dr.Mahadevan feels that it is only because of Poojya Sri Dr.Vaidyanathan's training, he is able to flourish in clinical and academic aspects of the science. Dr. Vaidyanathan's treatment was very much based on the fundamental principles of Ayurvedic science, which was not diluted or compromised at any level. He treated multidimensional health problems. He has formulated certain combinations for infertility, which he used with great success in his practice. Even in his old age he made his own medicines for his patients. Ayurveda was a living experience for this Mahatma who lived ayurvedically. Sri Sarada Ayurvedic Hospital was established by Dr. L. Mahadevan, an accomplished ayurvedic physician with a rich and varied experiannce spanning 20 years, with the aim of making available the wisdom of ayurveda for modern day ailments and life style. Dr. L. Mahadevan was born on 19th January 1969 to the gifted parents Mr Lakshmana Sharma and Chandra in a remote village of Derisanamcope, Kanyakumari dist, Tamil Nadu, India. He showed his intrest in Ayurveda from his early ages. His Grandfather Dr. Y. Mahadeva Iyer was a great physician, who was the inspiration for him in the early stages of life. It was a strict tiring way of training he got at the age of eight from this legendary practitioner which cultivated the eagerness in him to learn more about ayurveda. In 1987 he joined Venkatramana Ayurvedic Medical College, Madras for his BAMS. While studying he started to attend many ailments, which others feared to, in his college days, Dr. Vaidyanathan sir was his inspiration. He finished his course by winning university medal in 1993.Then in the same year he joined in MD kayachikitsa in Government Ayurvedic college, Thiruvananthapuram. He finished his course with high academic credentials in the year 1996. In the same year he joined sri sarada ayurveda hospital which is founded by late Dr. Y. Mahadeva Iyer in 1920. After understanding about the mismanagement& malpractice of ayurveda by some business magnets and doctors ,he started up with a vision of spreading authentic ayurvedic hospitals by keeping all the ethics of ayurveda practise and by which he can contribute at least some thing for this suffering indigenous science. As the first step he joined with many of the leading pharmaceutical companies and hospitals in different parts of India, as a technical director, thereby improving his knowledge of business in ayurveda and correcting them by giving some valuable tips.
