Rules & Agreement

Entry Fee and Tournament Format This tournament is a team format tournament. The Team wins the prize. The tournament is divided as follows: Allowable water craft are Open Fisherman, Flats Boats, Bay Boats, Canoes, Gheenoes, and Kayaks. Main Tournament o $100.00 Max 2 Anglers ($25.00 additional anglers) o Eligible Species: Redfish, Sea Trout, Bonefish, and Permit. Mangrove Madness Calcutta $25.00 o Eligible species: Mangrove Snapper aka Gray Snapper o Fish from land or on boat o Fish will be weighed in at the weigh-in party Catch Photo and Release Main Tournament The Battle on the Bay Charity Inshore Tournament is a catch and release fishing tournament. The tournament will provide each team with a ruler and a score card. Anglers must provide a digital camera with memory card. Each fish must be entered on the scorecard and must be photographed with the camera at the time the fish is caught. The photograph must clearly show the head of the fish against the end of the measuring device and clearly show the entire fish and the total length of the fish, without obstruction of hands or fingers. Tails may be pinched according to Florida state regulations. All photos must include the official tournament ruler provided. Fishing Hours Saturday September 7th, 2013, 6:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Location Fishing shall be within the boundaries of Biscayne Bay.

Parking Parking is available in front of El Capitan. Parking is also available in the shopping center to the north of the store, Sunstate Bank also to the north of the store, and Benjamin Moore also to the north of the store. Please do not park in the spaces located to the south of El Capitan. Captains/Anglers Meeting The Captains/Angler Meeting will be held on Thursday September 5th 2013, at El Capitan at 14121 South Dixie Highway. All captains/anglers shall attend the Captain's Meeting and Kick-off Party. Each team shall pick up its team package, which shall include two scorecards, measuring device, boat number and tournament bag. Each team shall bring the camera to be used during the tournament to the captains meeting. During registration a photo of the teams scorecard will be taken with the team camera. The photo will detail the teams boat number, and the sequence number of the photo taken with their camera which will be written on the scorecard by event staff. That photo will signal the start of the tournament catch photos. Prizes Grand Slam: A plaque and a $300.00 prize will be given to the team that catches at least one of each of the eligible species regardless of size. Main Tournament: A plaque and a $100.00 prize will be given for the longest of each eligible species. (One for Redfish, One for Bonefish, One for Permit, One for Sea Trout) Junior Angler: A plaque and a $100.00 prize shall be given to the junior angler that catches the longest aggregate length of the Eligible Species (Redfish, Sea Trout, Permit, Bonefish). A junior angler is a registered angler who has not reached his or her seventeenth birthday as of September 7th, 2013. Mangrove Madness Calcutta: The cash prize from the funds collected for the Calcutta shall go to the one team that catches the heaviest Mangrove Snapper. The payout is 90% to the team 10% to the charity. o In the Event of a Tie Grand Slam The team with the longest aggregate length of all the fish caught shall be the winner. Main Tournament - The team that catches the most of a single eligible species with the longest aggregate length shall be the winner of each species. Junior Angler The Junior angler that catches the most different species of eligible fish Shall be the winner. Mangrove Madness Heaviest aggregate weight of all Mangrove Snapper caught shall be the winner. Weigh-In The Weigh-in shall be held on September 7th, between 3:00PM and 6:30PM, at El Capitan 14121 So. Dixie Highway. Parking and overflow parking will be discussed at Captains Meeting. Weigh-In Party The Party shall be held on September 7th, between 3:00PM and 8:30PM, at El Capitan 14121 So. Dixie Highway. Parking and overflow parking will be discussed at Captains Meeting. Please note that while there is parking available, we would appreciate it if those who can drop off their boats at home prior to attending the weigh in party would do so. This will make everybodys life easier. Compliance Each team shall be responsible for accurately and completely filling out and signing the team's scorecard and the timely return of the scorecard, and tournament camera to the tournament staff. Failure to comply with any rule or regulation of the tournament, or law, rule or regulation of the state, may cause the disqualification of a team or the teams catch.

Every angler must have a current Florida fishing license, unless exempt by Florida law, or fish on a vessel whose captain has a current boat fishing license. The members of a team may not separate during tournament fishing hours (i.e., all team members must fish on the same boat). Weather All anglers will fish at their own discretion and at their own risk. If bad weather causes the cancellation of the tournament the tournament shall be postponed to a date to be determined by event staff. All decisions with respect to the weather shall be made by event staff. All decisions made by event staff shall be final. Indemnity All anglers will fish at their own risk. All anglers agree to indemnify and hold harmless all members of the Tournament staff, Directors, Sponsors, El Capitan Sports Center,Inc, El Capitan Marine & Fishing, LLC, and their agents and employees from any and all liability, loss or damage they may suffer as a result of their participation in this fishing tournament. Protests A registered angler may protest any other registered angler's entry/catch by filing a written protest to the tournament staff by 6:15 P.M. of the day of the protested catch. The judge's committee will settle any protest and their decision will be final. Thank you for Participating to Support this Worthy Cause!
