Resumen El espacio periurbano de la ciudad de Morelia, es decir el complejo territorial que expresa la interfase entre el campo y la ciudad, se ha caracterizado durante siglos por sus actividades productivas agroganaderas, mismas que durante el periodo virreinal y hasta antes de la Reforma Agraria en Mxico fueron llevadas a cabo por las haciendas, son lugares donde hasta la fecha se siguen cultivando granos bsicos con muy buenos resultados. Mediante prcticas espaciales relacionadas con las formas de produccin se han tatuado en el territorio, a travs de siglos, espacios habitables que caracterizan una forma particular de vida. En las ltimas dcadas el crecimiento de la ciudad de Morelia y el xodo de los trabajadores a la misma, as como el crecimiento del rea urbana hacia las periferias ha propiciado el agotamiento de recursos en la regin. A pesar de que la mayora de los espacios para la produccin en el entorno de la ciudad se encuentran deteriorados son huellas invaluables de los usos que se le ha dado a la naturaleza como materia prima o recursos energticos, mismo que manifiesta la relacin del ser humano con el medioambiente, por lo que dejan de ser construcciones aisladas para constituirse en un patrimonio territorial, en donde se observan hoy en da practicas espaciales relacionadas con la produccin en el campo que son pervivencias claras de esta relacin. Si el inters por activar el desarrollo de una zona de estas caractersticas considera los criterios de respeto y adecuacin podrn obtenerse resultados para un proyecto de desarrollo territorial, en donde las categoras de paisaje y territorio sean el eje para el

desarrollo de las comunidades, con miras a lograr la armona social, econmica y ambiental fundamentada en territorios patrimoniales.

Abstract. The space surrounding the urban area of Morelia, the territory that expresses the interface between the country and the city, has been characterized over the centuries by its stock farming and agricultural activities, which were carried out in the haciendas from the colonial period until the period of the agrarian land reforms in the early twentieth century. Over time and by way of social practices related to the modes of production, habitable spaces that characterize a particular way of living have been created in this territory. In the last decades, several factors have favored a totally different dynamic in the region, including the growth of the city of Morelia, the exodus of agricultural workers to urban areas and the invasion of the productive land by the urban settlements. Although most of the production spaces and buildings around the city are deteriorated, they are invaluable testimony of the way man has used nature as raw material and a source of energy. They manifest the connection between human being and environment, and as such, they go beyond being isolated units and become a territorial heritage, where practices related to agricultural production that are clearly remnants of this connection can still be observed today. If we consider that there can be no territory without the society who lives, builds and represents it day by day, it becomes necessary to make the community party to the recognition of the values of the territory, so that new meaning can be given to it strengthening regional identity but with a foundation in current spacial practices. If the interest to promote the development of an area such as this one takes into consideration criterion of respect and adaptation, then results of a regional development project in which the axis for the development of the communities include the categories of landscape and territory- will be positive and social, economic and environmental harmony can be achieved based on territorial heritage.
