Established in 2005, Trade Skills 4U have since become the UKs number 1 City & Guilds electrical and renewable energy training company. We have facilities, training staff and a reputation built on years of specialist experience in this field.

Im Carl Bennett and I am the Managing Director of Trade Skills 4U, Britains premier electrical & renewable energy training company. Last year more people passed City & Guilds electrical courses with Trade Skills 4U than any other training provider. We have the facilities, training staff and an unsurpassed reputation built on years of specialist experience in this field. Together we pride ourselves on our EAL recognised platinum training, which itself is a rare level of service to achieve. At Trade Skills 4U we aim to provide our customers with the knowledge, understanding and approval of our awarding bodies so that they are fully equipped with the skills they need to begin carving their path as installers.
Forgotten Heroes Bursary Scheme In June 2011 we kick-started our Forgotten Heroes Bursary Scheme, with a little help from Falklands veteran Simon Weston O.B.E. Our bursary aims to provide ex-service personnel who have fallen through the net of resettlement, with a new career opportunity in a lucrative industry. Were not a huge company and cant offer free training to everyone that is eligible but promise to do our best for those who have given what we can never repay. Our 8,000 square foot modern electrical centre is located at Mitre Court, Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 9JY. Altogether at our modern centre in Fleming Way, Crawley we have 20,000 square feet spread over 16 classrooms and bespoke workshops.

Our renewable energy training centre showcases our belief in modern and real life training. Our centre is located at Unit 17, Royce Road, Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 9NX

In 2010 we took on an empty warehouse about 100 yards from our specialist electrical training centre, and invested over 350,000 into building and designing what we believe is the best renewable energy training centre in Britain. We are still the first and only training company in Britain to have built a full sized single storey building within our centre for candidates to install both solar PV and solar thermal panels on. We have dedicated much time, effort and money into creating this centre simply to benefit our students and their working life after Trade Skills 4U. We believe that practical skills should be taught in environments that echo real life situations, so weve made sure that every inch of our centre was built with this real world initiative in mind.

Domestic Electrical Installer - Bronze

If youre new to electrics and want to gain the qualifications quickly and intensively, then this is the entry level course that is appropriate for you. This 18 day course will give the skills and the qualifications to safely and competently install all kinds of domestic electrics. This course has recently been upgraded to include more time on inspection and testing.
Whats included? When completing this course you will achieve the following 4 qualifications: C&G 4141-01 - Electrical Installation Work within a Domestic Dwelling C&G 2393 Part P Building Regulations C&G 2382-12 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (Including latest amendments) C&G 2392-10 Inspection & Testing Course These qualifications form the foundation knowledge required to safely install domestic electrics. From day 1 you will learn a range of practical skills to enable you to install domestic electrics. You will be assigned your own consumer unit and from there build lighting circuits, socket outlet circuits, cooker & shower circuits and much more. You will also learn the essentials of earthing and bonding as well as how to correctly use the tools of the trade. You will then progress to learn about inspection and testing which is an essential skill and teaches you how to make sure your installations are safe for use and working correctly. In the final week of the course you will brush up on your 17th edition wiring regulations. Despite the fact we have been teaching this course successfully for many years we have recently increased its length by 1 day and also added in a City & Guilds assessment for your Installation Workshop. Is this course right for me? This course package is suitable for anyone who wants to become a Domestic Electrical Installer and has little or no electrical installation experience. Under the new updated Building Regulations, any electrical installer must be competent and have the relevant minimum qualifications to prove their competence, installing testing and inspecting their installation to BS 7671 regulations. Candidates who complete this Bronze Course are eligible to take a shortened Qualified Supervisor Course should they wish to further their career.

This 6 week Qualified Supervisor Course is designed for installers who have been working in the industry but have no previous qualifications. It is an essential qualification if you intend to register on a domestic installer scheme and self certify your work as well as the work of others.

This 4 week course is very similar to the six weeks version on the previous page. However it is designed for students who have previously passed our Bronze course and takes your prior qualifications into account, reducing the total time the course. You will attend weeks 1, 2, 4 and 6 below:

Why take the EAL 7965 Qualified Supervisor Course? This course will give you the formal certificate to prove your competence as well as the confidence that you are carrying out your installations in the correct way. The key benefits of completing this course are as follows: It enables you to self-certify your own work allowing you to work freely and operate as a sole trader or even operate a small team. You will be able to register on a competent persons scheme with a provider such as the NICEIC saving you time and money when working on notifiable work. Above all you will be trained and qualified in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installations in Dwellings. You will then have confidence in your skills and ability to install and certify work in accordance with the very latest regulations. Course Content: The EAL 7695 Qualified Supervisor Course covers a wide range of topics including: health and safety, environmental technology, overseeing

If you are looking to train as a fully qualified electrician installing in Commercial, Industrial, Agricultural and domestic locations, the City & Guilds 2365 course is the ideal starting place. This is now the main qualification for the traditional route to becoming an electrician whether youre employed by an electrical contractor or not.
The level 2 & 3 2365 Courses replace the former very successful City & Guilds 2330. The 2365 Course contains 16 weeks of practical and theory training at Level 2 and 3. Unvented hot water training and certification is a requirement for any plumber who wants to work on unvented hot water systems. Part G3 of the Building Regulations defines unvented hot water systems as a controlled service. As such, it is a legal requirement that all unvented hot water installations are notified to the local Building Control department.
