Our friendly and fresh approach has naturally led us to adapt to the times and we now offer renewable energy training courses relevant in this eco-friendly age. Our trainees now benefit from specialist training in a wide range of courses in two very exciting markets.
Im Carl Bennett and I am the Managing Director of Trade Skills 4U, Britains premier electrical & renewable energy training company. Last year more people passed City & Guilds electrical courses with Trade Skills 4U than any other training provider. We have the facilities, training staff and an unsurpassed reputation built on years of specialist experience in this field. Together we pride ourselves on our EAL recognised platinum training, which itself is a rare level of service to achieve. At Trade Skills 4U we aim to provide our customers with the knowledge, understanding and approval of our awarding bodies so that they are fully equipped with the skills they need to begin carving their path as installers.
Forgotten Heroes Bursary Scheme In June 2011 we kick-started our Forgotten Heroes Bursary Scheme, with a little help from Falklands veteran Simon Weston O.B.E. Our bursary aims to provide ex-service personnel who have fallen through the net of resettlement, with a new career opportunity in a lucrative industry. Were not a huge company and cant offer free training to everyone that is eligible but promise to do our best for those who have given what we can never repay. For more information about our bursary, please visit us online.

Excellent training, very pleased; particularly impressed with the renewable centre as a whole.
In 2010 we took on an empty warehouse about 100 yards from our specialist electrical training centre, and invested over 350,000 into building and designing what we believe is the best renewable energy training centre in Britain. We are still the first and only training company in Britain to have built a full sized single storey building within our centre for candidates to install both solar PV and solar thermal panels on. We have dedicated much time, effort and money into creating this centre simply to benefit our students and their working life after Trade Skills 4U. We believe that practical skills should be taught in environments that echo real life situations, so weve made sure that every inch of our centre was built with this real world initiative in mind.
built to aid your understanding of connecting real equipment. We also have a range of Solar PV panels which you will connect to real inverters if you take a Solar PV course so you can connect them up and test them while they are live. Whether you are an installer, looking to install or simply a consumer of energy looking to maximise your investment, it is very important that everyone is educated in renewable energy so we can help move the industry forward together. Simply learning about the technologies and how they work will give you a real understanding of how you can benefit from one of the several government incentives that are available plus do your bit to lower your bills and help the planet. Amongst our range of quality renewable energy courses, we offer several renewable energy awareness courses which are designed for anyone looking to broaden their knowledge of this industry and the opportunities available to them. See www.tradeskills4u.co.uk for more details.

You will then progress to learn about inspection and testing which is an essential skill and teaches you how to make sure your installations are safe for use and working correctly. In the final week of the course you will brush up on your 17th edition wiring regulations. Despite the fact we have been teaching this course successfully for many years we have recently increased its length by 1 day and also added in a City & Guilds assessment for your Installation Workshop. Is this course right for me? This course package is suitable for anyone who wants to become a Domestic Electrical Installer and has little or no electrical installation experience. Under the new updated Building Regulations, any electrical installer must be competent and have the relevant minimum qualifications to prove their competence, installing testing and inspecting their installation to BS 7671 regulations. Candidates who complete this Bronze Course are eligible to take a shortened Qualified Supervisor Course should they wish to further their career.

Whats included? This course package includes the Bronze Course listed on the previous page plus an extra weeks training studying the BPEC Solar PV course. You will gain the following qualifications: C&G 4141-01 - Electrical Installation Work within a Domestic Dwelling C&G 2393 Part P Building Regulations C&G 2382-12 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (Including latest amendments) C&G 2392-10 Inspection & Testing Course BPEC Solar PV course These qualifications form the foundation knowledge required to safely install domestic electrics as well as install, maintain and fault find solar PV equipment. What makes our Solar Course different from the competition? Reality! We are the first and only company in England to provide solar PV training on a real roof, at height within our centre ! Our specially
designed and constructed single story house is surrounded by a typical scaffolding lift, with ginn wheels and access stairs. We train you to lift the panels from the ground using proper lifting gear, onto the scaffolding and then onto a properly tiled roof. We dont simulate a roof on the floor like our competitors, we do it at height on a building! We even have simulated loft space so you can get to grips with fitting a heavy inverter in a small awkward space. 5 Day BPEC Solar PV (Photovoltaic) Course: TS4U-BP5 This 5 BPEC solar PV course is designed to train electrical installers how to design and install solar PV equipment. Candidates must have already passed their City & Guilds 2382-12 17th Edition & City & Guilds 239210 Inspection & Testing or equivalent. The course covers both practical and theory training including sessions on our specially designed PV training roof. Is this course right for me? Why take the EAL 7965 Qualified Supervisor Course? This course will give you the formal certificate to prove your competence as well as the confidence that you are carrying out your installations in the correct way. The key benefits of completing this course are as follows: It enables you to self-certify your own work allowing you to work freely and operate as a sole trader or even operate a small team. You will be able to register on a competent persons scheme with a provider such as the NICEIC saving you time and money when working on notifiable work. Above all you will be trained and qualified in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installations in Dwellings. You will then have confidence in your skills and ability to install and certify work in accordance with the very latest regulations. Course Content: The EAL 7695 Qualified Supervisor Course covers a wide range of topics including: health and safety, environmental technology, overseeing
and organising; planning, preparing, selection, installation and connection; inspection, testing, commissioning and diagnosing and correcting electrical faults. The course lasts 6 Weeks if taken from start to finish however as stated above learners who have completed our Bronze Course will only need to complete weeks 1, 2, 5 and 6. The weeks break down as follows: Week 1 Health and Safety legislation, practices and procedures relevant to Electrical Installations in Dwellings. Electrical Science Principles relevant to Electrical Installations in Dwellings. Week 2 Environmental Legislation relevant to Electrical Installations in Dwellings. Working practices and the principles of environmental technology systems associated with Electrical Installations in Dwellings. Week 3 Understanding the principles, practices and procedures for the planning, preparation and selection of wiring systems and electrotechnical
equipment in dwellings Understanding the practices and procedures for the installation and connection of wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment in dwellings
Understanding the practices and procedures for the installation and connection of wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment in dwellings Understanding the practices and procedures for overseeing and organising the work environment when installing electrical installations in dwellings
all of their own installations. It is also suitable for learners who have completed our Bronze Course Package. The term Qualified Supervisor is a little misleading, its a traditional electrical industry term, and some people might think you need to be a Supervisor in charge of other operatives, You Dont. You are not required to Supervise anyone; you can be a sole operative who works alone, self supervising as the majority of sparkies tend to be! Course Timings For the 6 Week course most people study 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, however we can pick individual course dates for you. If taking the 4 week course most students will attend 4 weeks in a row, however again we can split this up for you if need be.
