300th Anniversary Update
Each remaining First Day in May, we will be taking
photos for the 300th Journal and recorded history. At
the rise of Meeting, while we enjoy fellowship and the
eats, we will take pictures. Photos will be taken in the
back office area. These are not designed to be studio
shots by a traveling photo company. We will
photograph any and all individuals, families and
friends. The photos will be compiled using the skills of
digital photography and creating group photo. This is
the first of our outreach to our youth bringing them
into the 300th celebration. We encourage you to all
think of other projects we can include the youth
during this next year. Now remember to SMILE, you

Does anyone know who made the sign that graces our
Great Oak Tree? Does anyone remember the words
to the poem? Ann Tucker is trying to get the words of
the poem back. This is what is still visible…
We think it may say:
It sighs with me
It laughs with me
The Wind that sings
Thru this old tree.
We are searching for the original poem to accompany
a lithograph of the old Oak tree which will be offered
as a fundraiser during the 300th Anniversary. Please
contact Ann Tucker if you have any thoughts,
memories or ideas of how to find the poem.

Belief
Does anything unite this diverse group beyond our
common love and humanity? Does anything make us
distinctively Quaker? I say yes. Each of us has
different emphases and special insights, but wherever
Friends are affirming each other's authentic experience
of God, rather than demanding creedal statements, we
are being God's faithful Quakers. Wherever we are
seeking God's will rather than human wisdom,
especially when conflict might arise, we are being
faithful Quakers. Wherever we are affirming the total
equality of men and women, we are being God's
faithful Quakers. Wherever there is no division
between our words and our actions, we are being
faithful. Whenever we affirm that no one—priest,
pastor, clerk, elder—stands between us and the
glorious and mystical experience of God in our lives,
we are faithful Friends. Whether we sing or whether
we wait in silence, as long as we are listening with the
whole of our being and seeking the baptism and
communion of living water, we will be one in the
