THORNDIKES THEORY OF LEARNING 3 CONDITIONS THAT MAXIMIZES LEARNING: The law of effect stated that the likely recurrence

e of a response is generally governed by its consequence or effect generally in the form of reward or punishment. The law of recency stated that the most recent response is likely to govern the recurrence. The law of exercise stated that stimulus-response associations are strengthened through repetition. REACTION: A. How the learning/principle relates to me/my behavior: B. I found the learning/principle to be true to a great part of my everyday life. Instances/Situations/ Experiences to validate or invalidate the principle: During my early years, my actions follow the first principle. I often do things which I found to be favored by the people around me. For example, some of the good manners that I have learned are because of the fact that if they are good, my parents or other elder people would reward me (either by praise like thats good!, keep that up, etc. or by small things like candies or coins) In while the if they the are not, I would good either thing be reprimanded or get some little beating on the butt. process, idea that would eventually give me good responses and the bad ones would rather be criticized, and through continuously doing such good actions, I have come to master this things and turned it into a habit.

THORNDIKES THEORIES OF LEARNING 1. The most basic form of learning is trial and error learning. 2. Learning is incremental not insightful. 3. Learning is not mediated by ideas. 4. All mammals learn in the same manner. 5. Law of readiness: Interference with goal directed behavior causes frustration and causing someone to do something they do not want to do is also frustrating. 6. Law of Exercise: We learn by doing. We forget by not doing, although to a small extent only. 7. Law of effect: If the response in a connection is followed by a satisfying state of affairs, the strength of the connection is considerably increased whereas if followed by an annoying state of affairs, then the strength of the connection is marginally decreased. RACTION: A. How the learning/principle relates to me/my behavior: I learning. agree I with Thorndikes witness explanations to how they of have these been have been

noticeable on my everyday life. As I have observed, these principles can be manifested in almost every effort I have with concern to learning. Although there are instances that I, myself, would not notice the Learning process or the knowledge acquired. I also noticed that some actions/skills that I have not or was not able to use in years or for some long period of time are either undeveloped or totally forgotten.

Indeed, I can relate to Edward Thorndikes theories of learning. B. Instances/Situations/ Experiences to validate or invalidate the principle: Many times that I have found this learning to be true. For example, in my manner of dressing and fixing my make-up, I did not at first come to know what style would suit me best or what style I want. But through repetition and after some errors, I came to master dressing and fixing up. Learning is a continuous process. I always acquire new knowledge everyday and these knowledge upgrades what I previously have. I perceive ideas one at a time. I learn things step by step rather than in bulk. This is of by particularly to subtract. true in I have learning the also learned Fundamental Steps how to multiply

mathematics. I learned adding first before I learned how founding out that multiplication is repeated addition. It did not occur that I would learn all such operations in one sitting; I generated them one at a time. I have also noticed how in many instances that I am frustrated on the outcome of things when I am prepared for it and it did not happen. For instance, in one of my early years in college, I was very eager to report on a topic assigned to me and for which I labored for many late nights (visual aids & reviewing), only to be told by my teacher that I will not be able to report my topic due to lack of time and instead, I must submit a written report. Likewise, I was also frustrated when I was told to report in another subject which I was totally unready.
