INTRODUCTION
Medicinal and aromatic plants are gaining prominence globally since the demand for plant based flavours, fragrances and phytochemicals has increased tremendously. It is possible to enter into commercially viable ventures in the area of medicinal and aromatic plants. CSIR-CIMAP (Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants) is a premier institute under CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research). CSIR-CIMAP has developed necessary expertise in agro and processing technologies of medicinal and aromatic plants. CSIRCIMAP periodically conducts programmes to upgrade the skills of entrepreneurs in the area of medicinal and aromatic plants.

COURSE COVERAGE
The three-day Skill-Cum-Technology Upgradation Programme on Production Technology of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants will cover both theory and practical aspects of agro and processing technologies of some commercially important medicinal and aromatic plants of South India. The programme will also deliberate upon marketing and financial aspects. The programme will cover the following topics in English : Agrotechnologies of some economically important medicinal and aromatic plants Demonstration of distillation technology Processing of medicinal and aromatic plants Standardisation and quality of essential oils Field demonstration Marketing and financing aspects

COURSE FEE
Rs. 2000/-. The fee covers expenditure on course material, tea and lunch for 3 days. Participants have to make their own arrangements for stay and transport to the venue.
