Post & Logistics Action Plan for the MENA-MED Region

Organising from the ground up

Mapping of the global companies in the countries represented by the network Assess geographical distribution and number of workers and potential to organise Mapping of companies represented by the network List all the European Works Councils in our sector o Who: national unions Include all the trade unions active in the sector in our work, both national unions and confederations Questionnaire to each union with questions about their sector of activity, union density, hours of work, political etc. o When: end of 2012 Development of realistic organising plan Conduct an assessment of multinationals to assess violations of the work code Have someone in the union responsible for organising work Define a realistic organising target Change the mentality about organising workers in DHL and other multinationals within our unions Hold awareness campaign about unionisation in multinationals with flyers in 3 languages o Who: MENA P&L o When: On May 1, 2013 What resources (people, money, material) do you have for organising?
