WORK EXPERIENCE:
• FlipGloss Media Inc. - Los Angeles, CA
I have been employed as an Editorial Associate since July 2008 at FlipGloss Media, a start-up website based in Los
Angeles and New York City with backing from Forbes Media. FlipGloss Media is an interactive visual experience
that allows users to browse through photo collections that span across fashion, popular culture, lifestyle and travel.
As a member of the editorial team, my work began with uploading our photo-based content through a custom-
made system that allowed us to input as much data around an image with the intent of enhancing our search
engine. This work is crucial to FlipGloss in order to boost Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine
Marketing (SEM) results. I primarily focused on my data entry duties from July through December, adding as much
content to the website as possible before our launch in February 2009. My next responsibility was to research our
given areas of interest to find innovative trends that would work well as image-based stories. After pitching ideas to
my editor I would reach out to the appropriate public relations contacts in order to access the highest quality
images. After compiling the images I would write a brief introduction, compose catchy captions and find interesting
facts to go along with each photo. I was then responsible for making sure each photo and piece of information got
through our system by deadline. In addition to maintaining relations with PR people and keeping to date with my
editorial responsibilities, I served as an assistant to my editor and other office superiors as needed. I scheduled
meetings, ordered office supplies, arranged lunches and kept the office orderly.
