Transportation
Bus transfer from the airport Hamburg to
Sankelmark. Up to three shuttles are planned,
one at 15.00, a second at 17.00 and a third about
20.00. Participants who are not arriving by plane,
are asked to take the train to Flensburg. The
Akademie Sankelmark is situated near to
Flensburg (distance 9 km): you can take a taxi
from Flensburg Train Station to Sankelmark
(about 11,00 EURO). Further information about

While mental health is a central aspect of primary
care, there are only a few validated quality mea-
sures and relevant international publications that

have studied the structural indicators of environ- 14. - 16. September 2009
mental factors having impact in positive mental
health. Yet, structural indicators are essential as Akademie Sankelmark
national and international standards for monito-
ring and evaluating related programmes and Germany
policies.
To assess these structural indicators a European
network of institutions led by Deusto University
(Bilbao,SP) undertook a European Union wide
study (EU-Project Monitoring Mental Health Envi-
ronments) to investigate structural indicators on

OBJECTIVES FORUM
PROGRAMME

The EU-Project Monitoring Mental Health September 14, 2009

Environments aimed to collect, process, analyse
and evaluate objective, reliable and comparable
available information and data in 17 European
regions, to effectively formulate and monitor
appropriate strategies, policies and tools on the
field of promoting mental health at the commu-
nity level. Information at national level was
requested also. The information and data were
collected by using an already tested and agreed
set of structural indicators of social and environ-
mental factors that have approved impact in posi-
tive mental health.
Within a final conference of the project, a Policy
Forum for Monitoring Positive Mental Health
Environments, the results of the entire project
will be presented and a policy agenda proposed
to implement the recommendations and the wide
use of the elaborated template in all the
European regions.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
It is intended that the Policy Forum audience will
be a combination of stakeholders and practitio-
ners in public health, mental health and health
promotion:
• policy leads and decision-makers in community,
regional and national positions
• consultants, project-managers, researchers,
implementation and evaluation experts
POLICY CONTEXT
The EU-Project Monitoring Mental Health
Environments and the Policy Forum are to be
seen in conformity to translating the European
Pact for Mental Health* into action.
