Hazardous Goods
We are now able to send out hazardous goods with TNT. The standard charge per consignment is 25.00 tracked delivery. Goods of different hazard classes cannot be sent in the same package, i.e. Powders and primers. We can send items with a max of 20kg Net Explosive Quantity (e.g. 20 kilos of powder). For further information please give us a call (01482 631066) as we can offer discounted rates when buying in larger volume. Please note that someone MUST be there to sign for these consignments. MEC 600Jr. Mark 5 This is the most popular shotshell reloading machine in the world. Simple and quick to use, it is capable of reloading 5 to 6 boxes an hour by a novice or experienced reloader. It includes many popular features found on the more expensive machines, like the self aligning spindex crimp starter head. Cases from 2" to 3" magnum can be loaded, but will depend upon the gauge used. Machines are available in gauges from .410 to 10 gauge, and they can be converted to any gauge from .410 to 10ga. An auto-primer feeder can also be fitted as an optional extra, but not on .410. MEC 600Jr. Mark 5 3 1/2 steel shot converted. MEC Sizemaster/Steelmaster MEC Sizemaster is the supreme MEC single stage reloading machines. It's attribute is the highly accurate "Power Ring" collet resizer, which returns every case back to the factory specification. It also has the MEC automatic primer feed system (Not in .410) fitted as standard so there is no need to handle individual primers. The machine comes adjustable for 3 cartridges. MEC Steelmaster is the steel version of the Sizemaster. The machine is specifically designed to load steel cartridges, but works equally well with other non toxic shot as well as lead. The steelmaster is available in 3 and can then be set up to load 2 and 3 with the use of a MEC Short Kit, making this machine not only high quality, but also extremely versatile. MEC 9000 - High speed, high volume reloading at its best. 9000GN features an Automatic spring-ram actuated rotating indexing system (AutoDex), finished shell ejection, Power Ring collet resizing, three stage crimping, and the new lever actuated 200 capacity auto-primer feed tray. The three stage crimp system gives the best looking finished crimp there is, being almost indistinguishable from a new crimp. It also features an automatic bar lock device, so that a single cartridge can be reloaded without causing any spillage. 9000E is the Auto- Electric version of the 9000GN, all that is needed is a push of a button with no handle to pull down. They are NOT convertible, and no die sets are made.

Steel Shot & Magnum Wads

Clay&Game reloaders now have their own 12ga 3 & 3 plastic steel shot wads. Made in America they have large capacities of 46gr Pb or ITM, 32gr Fe,40gr Bi, 30gr Tin in 3 and 63gr Pb or ITM, 65gr WFe, 57gr Bi, or 45 Fe shot in 3 wads. Both need slitting 4 ways down the shot cup length to customise them and make them safe to use.

LBC24, 30, 48, & 53 (Limited Bore Contact) wads are now available. Designed to hold up to 37 grams of 4.0 mm and 50 grams 2.8 mm steel shot in a 3" PT case. LBC48 & LBC53 wads are ideal for loading Steel shot up to 4.0 mm, and also ITM, Bismuth and small Hevi-Shot shot. Being a long wad, consideration must be given to the bulk element of the propellant that is intended to be used. LBC24 is used in 70mm cases and will hold 24 grams of 3.5 mm Steel shot. The NEW LBC30 holds 20 grams of 3.3mm Steel shot in a short case. It can also hold 30 grams for Lead shot on a 12ga 2 case. making it an ideal wads for a game load. All LBC wads require slitting about of their length before being loaded.

Gualandi Magnum Wads

Gualandis SUPER-G Magnum, Super G-14, & H-12 mm high density plastic Wads are designed for use in 70mm PT cases. All shot cups have pre-slit petals, an oval compression unit and can hold up to 42 grams of Lead shot. The Magnum can also hold 28gr of Steel shot up to a maximum of 3.5 mm. It can also be used with ITM, ITX, or Tin shot. Super G-14 can only be used with Lead or compressible types of shot holding 40gr Lead, 30gr ITM in a 70mm PT cases.

Vagner range of wads are made in Denmark and represent one of the better quality wads currently available for reloading in GB. Capable of being used with all types of shot currently on sale to the reloader, their capacities are substantial. Each wad is pre-slit 4 ways and joined by weak break-frees to make loading with them easy. Bases on 2.6mm Lead shot (Pb) and 3.5mm Steel shot (Fe) to fit a 70 mm PT case, a VPS-21 will hold 32 grams of Pb, VP60 holds 40gr Pb or 26gr Fe, VP65 44gr Pb or 29 Fe, and S-35 for 3 cases hold 48gr Pb or 33gr Fe, 20ga VP90 21gr Fe. The maximum steel shot size recommended for these wads is 3.5mm .

CGR/Gualandi 8 bore wads fit the new Winchester, and Fiocchi cases. Made in Italy their main use is to act as a gas sealing component for the heavy shot loads up to 3oz. It can also be used as the gas seal for the new CGR Biodegradable 8ga card cup which can be used for any type of shot currently known. See page 5. They are not recommended for use with black powder.

Environmental friendly biodegradable card cups are the answer for those restricted to shooting over a farmers land that respects ecological requirements. Card cups need a gas sealing component under them, in the form of an over-powder card. A felt wad or fibre wad can be placed between the card and card cup. Card cups are available for Steel, POWER SHOT, ITM, ITX, or Lead shot in 8 gauge. 8ga have an average 0.836 and are 38mm length.

CGR 10 Gauge Bio-Degradable Card Shot Cups

Like the CGR 8ga environment friendly biodegradable card cup, the 10ga version is designed on the same principal. To protect a gun barrel from any abrasion caused by hard types of modern none-toxic shot. Being a shot carrier only it needs a gas sealing system under it to make it perform in the manner it is intended. For a full environment consideration it can be used with a nitro card and fibre wad under the cup, or it can be used with a plastic gas seal and column height adjustment felts. Types of shot and weights that can be used in Bio Card Cup are 60 grams ITM, 62 POWER SHOT, 44gr Tin, and 47gr 4.0 mm Steel shot. All need slitting almost to the bottom 4 ways before use. is 0.795/19.28 mm and 48 mm in length.

CLAY TARGET WADS

Most plastic wads available for 20 gauge are designed to hold 24g to 30g of lead shot and, are for use in 70mm PT cases. Gualandi wads currently available are the Super-G 15 for 28 grams Lead shot, the Super-G Spreader for 24g and Super-G 25 & 21 for 24grams. The S-G 25 has a gas disperser in the powder cup. 12 Gauge Gualandi V-Zero 25 & 23. Both wads are a complex high quality design. The V-0 23 is designed for 32 gram loads in a 70 mm PT case and the V-0 25 for 28 gram loads. oth have "V" raked walls and double "0" self adjusting compression unit helps reduce felt recoil to a minimum. V-0 25 has a multi-pin gas dispersing cup, it keeps the wad on top of the propellant letting the expanding gases maintain a radial sealing pressure on the powder cup walls. To prevent gas leakage the both V-0 wads have a secondary seal at the base of the shot cup just incase of any damage caused to the first one in the loading process. This makes sure you have consist and hard hitting close pattern.

12 Gauge Gualandi SPARK or REX wads are made to hold only 24 grams of Lead shot in a 70 mm PT case and are the ideal wad for the reloader. They features a deep powder cup, strong compression unit to help stop dipped e-crimps with light loads, and they also have a double gas seal system. These special features lend hemselves to high velocities and consistent shot to shot ballistics. They can also be used with modern edium volume powders without loss of column height.

Gualandi SUPER-G SPREADER wads have been made to give consistent open patterns at relatively close range. This is useful when hunting in woods or for first shots from a single barrel auto or pump gun. In 12ga they hold 32 grams of Lead shot in a 70 mm case and, 24 grams in a 20ga. It is recommended for maximum effectiveness not to use shot sizes larger then 2.4 mm, also to avoid crushing the centre spreader rod when loading and closing your case. For the greatest breadth of spread it is better to use a roll turnover closure instead of a star crimp.

Degradable Wads and Fillers

Fibre wads are made from a man-made fibrous material impregnated with a mix of bitumen and paraffin wax. Most are capped top and bottom with a thin paper cover. This helps prevent shot from becoming embedded in the fibre while under acceleration forces.

Capped Cork Fillers Now available in 2 & 4mm for 12, 16, 20, 28 and .410 gauges. Cork fillers can be placed on top of a hard fibre wad under the shot to give a cushioning effect. Gas Seals
Gas Seals or Obturator discs' give a gas sealing property similar to a plastic wad powder cup. Designed primarily to be used under felt or fibre wads to make them more ballistically efficient. They are made in 2 forms, white for plastic cases, and green for paper cases. Available in 10ga 7 mm thick, 12ga 5 mm & 6.5 mm thick, and 20ga 5 mm thick only. In certain applications obturators can be used under some plastic wads to increase the column height, particularly with steel shot wads.

For the 28 gauge reloader we have four types of plastic wad for the 70 mm case and one fibre type. G-H38A will hold 17/18 grams of Lead shot, H37B. 22/24gr, H41. 27/28gr, H30 holds Green in colour with a secondary gas sealing ring around the base of the shot cup to help prevent leakage just in case the powder cup was damaged in loading.

Gualandi 32ga H37 and 24ga H38 wads are stocked in small quantities due to their limited demand. The 32ga wad is reversible having an open powder cup shot cup arrangement, and the 24ga has a single ended Mini-Container. Both are made to fit 65 mm PT cases and have compression columns for flexibility of shot loads. They also include a secondary central gas seal.

Three types of .410 plastic wads are currently available and one wax coated cork. The Gualandi Micro H17 holding 19 grams of lead shot in a 76 mm PT case. Two Mini-Container H27 holds 14gr in a 65 mm case and H33 14gr in 76mm, and the H40 with full length petals 16 gram in the 76 mm PT cases. Full length petals are to help reduce leading of the barrel walls. H40s are not recommended for guns fitted with a silencer. The wax coated cork wad is 15 mm in height and capped both ends. It can be placed directly on the powder, but can also be used with an over-powder card if required.

Propellants for shot cartridge reloading are in three categories of vivacity. Degressive (fast burning), Neutral (medium burning), and Progressive (slow burning). They are classified by their make-up as single base, double base, and modified. Fast burn powders are for light loads up to 28 grams, medium 30 to 36g, and slow up to 50g. Slow powders are also common in all forms of non-toxic shot loads. New powders such as Alliant 356, & T.E.O. are now available blended and balanced for use with non-toxic types of shot, particularly Steel shot. These are modified to give low breech pressures and high velocities. Some concern exists because they dont burn clean. The reason for this is due to the chemical make up within the powder. However, the results obtained are astounding and beyond the ability of other types of powder. So forget the residual burn element and buy a cleaning rod. A clean barrel has never killed anything yet, but an efficient shot load has. Never use a fast burning powder with a heavy load, unless you have a need to prove to yourself that St. Peter does exist and, that there are other behind his gates that are as daft as you. Remember, that resistance contained within a cartridge created by a fast burning propellant behind a heavy shot load, a tight wad fit and crimp, will make a propellant convert its heat to gas more efficiently. This will cause a high breech pressure and slow velocity, so never guess at what the burn speed of a powder is, always seek advise.

Powders & Primers

Below is a general guide to the uses of the powders listed above. It is not sacrosanct but should be considered as important before use. Most of the powders can be used in other gauges, but must be used to a proofed formula. Be aware that some advice given by ignorance can be very dangerous.

Shot NON-TOXIC & Lead

CGR Power Shot
POWER SHOT is exclusive to Clay&Game Reloaders. It is slightly heavier than Hevi-shot or ITM and is about 12.9% heavier then 3% Sb Lead shot. So it gives devastating long range killing power. There are three shot sizes 3.0mm, 3.5mm & 4.0mm all giving a very high impact levels for their size. Tungsten based Power Shot works a lot better than Lead, but isnt cheap, nevertheless its still cheaper than ITM or Hevi-shot. It is also capable of killing ranges beyond those of most shooter ability to consistently shoot.

Bismuth Shot
Bismuth has very similar characteristics to lead. With ITM becoming more difficult to get hold of, Bismuth is one of the only alternatives to lead for those with old guns. It has the same penetration at distance as well as the soft, malleable characteristics as lead.

Steel Shot
Most steel shot shot sold for reloading is now made in China, is very round and probably the best youve ever seen. It is usually coated with a rust inhibitor that can make reloading machines dirty. Nevertheless, it is important for long period storage.

ITX Shot
Manufactured to a target density of 10.0 grams/cc. Original-10 is hard enough to maintain superior patterning and penetration, yet softer than any barrel steel. Original-10 is ideal for any shooter concerned with shooting non-toxic through their barrels, including double-gun shooters and small-bore shooters.

Nice Shot
Nice shot is made up from tungsten, tin and iron.The result is a shot that is almost as heavy as lead and almost as soft. It is made to be used as a lead replacement. Loading this shot does not require special wads, unlike other non-toxic options. It has a density of 10g/cc so is slightly lighter than lead but has the same high energy levels and malleability.

Clay&Game Reloaders are again having .410 and 8 gauge de-recappers made for them. They make decapping and recapping a case very easy and safe. Made in steel with a heavy base and an articulated primer seater.

The Trim Doctor tool is two tools in one: A shotshell case length trimmer that produces exacting cuts and ideal short cases, and a case disassembly tool. . A threaded adjustment gauge in the Trim Doctor holds shells in alignment to produce a clean and crimpable edge. The Trim Doctor is designed to remove 1/4" at a time (about the same as full fold crimp). Two full cuts on a 10 gauge shell produce a 2-7/8" shell. It comes with one gauge adaptor bushing.
