Mr.

Shafi Mether,

This is in response to the mail sent by you in response to the face book post hosted by me. You had very respectably defended your position against the allegation mentioned, and I whole heartedly appreciate the gesture. I am a person who believes in leftist ideologies. The turn of events, and further the reasons that led to your renunciation of the official post held doesnt gratify my rationality. So when I chanced on such a photograph, I was piqued to go searching for details regarding the same. And hence the face book post. As you have correctly mentioned, the statements of P.C. George had indeed influenced me and especially because he is a member of the ruling party. The indication that you had issued legal notices against them doesnt in anyway prompt me to withdraw the post or apologise for the same. With all due respect, Sir, until your innocence in the matter is proven by a court of law and all the others express their apology I dont see such a gesture necessary. I am not interested to allude to your academic competence or else to the prowess that you possess in your field. From the time you were in the lime light of news channels until now you have made many allusions to the same end. I agree that it is indeed your achievement. But people who are not elites, commoners like us dont go searching for academic profiles or backgrounds of people; we rather look to their enterprise. That is the only criteria we prefer. I wouldnt dare to say Dr.Manmohan Singh is the best Prime Minister India had ever seen, people with lesser educational profiles have proven their mettle. We Keralites have witnessed good governance being meted out by school drop outs. The office staff and those who had proven their allegiance to societal services also doesnt flash foreign degrees. Im not trying to disregard your accomplishment. But what I want to say is that, it cant be given a prominence than what is necessary, and in this context it doesnt count beyond being typical. This is especially so because there are no details regarding your achievements as Financial advisor to Keralas Chief Minister for the last one and a half years, neither are any details present regarding how your advises have proven beneficial to the state of Kerala. I have done my own share of searching for such reports and, Im sad to mention that I couldnt find any.

The only mention was about foreign investments in Emerging Kerala as a result of your efforts. This information was furnished by yourself in one of your interviews. Since there appears that not a single rupee had been committed or invested in Kerala under Emerging Kerala Scheme by foreign investors such claims also falls short. You have talked about owning 100 share in Zikiza, but had conveniently forgotten to mention that Mather group owns 25.3 % of shares in the same. One only needs gumption to understand that the unprecedented growth of the company is in part due to its close ties with people of strong political sway. To be read along with this are details regarding corruption claims associated with the ambulance purchase. How do you hope to steer clear off the spending of rupees 157 crores in purchasing ambulances? You might be innocent in all the cases but how can you morally support your claims when you were simultaneously the financial advisor to Keralas PM and as Director to many private firms coming under? It is plain that you are not accustomed to the societal life of Kerala let alone go into its democratic set up. How can such a person be of help to its citizens? You had sited your own reasons for renunciation of the post of financial advisor, yet one if left wondering how a person who couldnt settle disputes over familial property with his kith and kin was hoping to counsel a state on its finance.
