Prometheus
The Bringer of Fire / The Creator of Man

Abstract
This is my god concept/suggestion for Prometheus: The Bringer of Fire for Smite. Also I try to still hold myself to my design philosophy of no hard CC nor jumps or dashes if it isnt absolutely necessary. Just like my other god suggestion, which can be found at my scribd page (http://www.scribd.com/Xeran_), I will try once again to propose an unique and interesting character for Smite. I hope you enjoy the concept and I would appreciate it if you would give me some of your opinions and feedback of this concept. This god is also a little bit more special to me, because Prometheus and his fire stand for progress, technology, human knowledge, etc. he is the official mascot of my university. I also know there exist a god in Dota 2 called Rubick, which can steals spells and I really would love to have that mechanic in smite. Prometheus is perfect for this and I also did research Rubick to see what is necessary to make it work, but Prometheus spell steal will also work a lot differently, because of how Smite works different. Disclaimer: Even though I try to create realistic kits and base my values on similar skills and gods the values are their mainly for demonstration purposes. Also everything between brackets is optional or is just for clarification.

Goals:
Creating unique and fun character Only soft CC (no stuns, etc.) No jumps/dashes, introducing unique ways for this Match with his lore as good as possible. Introducing new (more soft) CC Magical support god Spell steal, buffs, etc. No real ult (just 4 abilities, like Arachne) No team heal as support Focused on support mainly and stealing skills Being as annoying and good sustain as Change. Huge possible sustain, but very mana hungry and no direct means of attack nor active (team) heals True familiar (bodyguard companion) Strong theoretically counter to possible everyone

Lore
In Greek mythology, Prometheus is a Titan, culture hero, and trickster figure who is credited with the creation of man from clay, and who defies the gods and gives fire to humanity (theft of fire), an act that enabled progress and civilization. He is known for his intelligence and as a champion of mankind. The punishment of Prometheus as a consequence of the theft is a major theme of his mythology, and is a popular subject of both ancient and modern art. Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, sentenced the Titan to eternal torment for his transgression. The immortal Prometheus was bound to a rock, where each day an eagle, the emblem of Zeus, was sent to feed on his liver, which would then grow back to be eaten again the next day. (In ancient Greece, the liver, rather than the heart, was thought to be the seat of human emotions.) In some stories, Prometheus is freed at last by the hero Heracles (Hercules).

Reference images

Appearance
In Smite he will mainly be humanoid, fire wielding god, but he should have an interesting twist and some creativity added to it. The top left (1st picture) and the 3rd from top on the left are great reference images for him. His AAs will sort of look like Agni, but also different. Additional to his appearance he also has a companion for which I have found the perfect picture of how that must look and the picture can be found by ability 3. Most of his FX will has a fire theme in it.

Role|Class
Pantheon: Greek Role: Magical ranged support mage Attack progression: 1/1/1/1(but this AA starts from the last and comes back into Prometheus) Basically his AAs are very similar to Agnis. The first 3 are regular, but the 4rd starts where the 3rd ended and comes back (reversed AA) and basically makes it actually a 1/1/2 progression, but with the 3rd attack slightly earlier in damage (like Hun Batz). If that 4rd AA hits a god or minion, you gain a passive stack. (because the 4rd attacks steals fire from the enemy god/minion AA

Abilities
Passive: The Power of Fire
Prometheus gets 2 passive meters. 1 similar as Vulcans to keep track of the health of your companion. And 1 , which is a huge fire or torch with fire to visually show how much stacks you have. These stacks should also be visual visible on his model itself. Once Prometheus gains 10 stacks of power of fire, they are consumed and Prometheus is healed for 25% of his max HP.

This passive gives him great sustain, but he has to work for it and he has others things to focus on besides his own health (see ability 3 and 4). Keep in mind that this takes total of 40 AAs or at least ability 2 and 4 with 8 AAs to get done. So +/- this only can happen at max every 15 seconds.

Ability 1: Phalanx formation

This ability only works when you have ability 3 (I know totally great, but this is the most balanced and fun way) The minion will teleport to you and will take the Phalanx formation before you (he will be very close before you, little bit to the right) for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds. For its duration all AOE damage, CC and projectile, which come within the 180 will be absorbed by the minion (you wont be harmed). The minion cant attack during this and can die before the duration is expired. The minion will also receive 50% less damage for the duration. If the minion didnt die during it and the full duration has expired he will get back 10/15/20/25/30% of his max health. This skill can be cancelled earlier. CD: 16/15/14/13/12 Mana: 60/65/70/75/80

Ability 2: The Gift of Fire

Cant find actual values for fire minion buffs Prometheus steals fire from the enemy gods (~0.5 seconds delay and you see a little bit of fire coming out of the chests of enemies and coming into Prometheus hands/torch. Then Prometheus shares the fire with his allied gods and minions. For 3 seconds the effected allies and gods gain a power debuff and buff respectively. Also for every enemy within the radius fire is stolen, which gives you a passive stack per enemy god. Enemies deal 20% less damage. Allies gain: 10/15/20/25/30(+15% physical power) & 20/30/40/50/60+(15% magical power buff) Radius: 25ft Minions: Get fire minion buff at max level (on other levels its linearly scaled down) CD: 15 seconds Mana: 60/70/80/90/100 Your allies will basically get the fire minion buff and their body (better would be their weapons) will flow fire for the duration. This is basically a very strong anti-initiation ability to switch the tide of battle and debuff/buff your enemies/allies. (I may even remove the fire minion buff)

Ability 3: The Five Ages of Man

Prometheus construct a man out of iron-stone(/heroic)-bronze-silver-gold, which will defend and attack for him.

CD: 22/21/20/19/18 seconds Mana: 80/90/100/110/120 The following 3 numbers cant be good determined, because for instance cant find anywhere the values for Artemis boar or normal minions. Any help in that regards would be appreciated, so this is mainly just for demonstration purpose. Health: 50/100/200/300/400 (+ 30 % of Prometheushealth) Protections: 10/20/30/40/50 (both) Attack: 20 (+70% of your magical power)(deals it as physical damage, 1 AA per second and cant crit) Max range: 35ft Overall he should be able to survive at least 6 seconds in normal situation and should be able to deal enough damage late game to 1-2 hit a minion. He is the bruisery companion of a squishy support mage. Appearance: This will look like a roman soldier/greek hoplite and it will be melee. The iron-stone-etc. are just 5 different textures to fit with his lore of creator of man (search google for the five ages of man). He will be in between a normal god and minions in terms of his size. It would be awesome if the minion is a little bit more bionic/modern/robot (like Vulcans turrets). The following picture is just amazing and show in general what I want it to look like. Of course at least the emblem of his shield should be a torch with fire or the Smite bolt icon Link to this awesome picture (it really looks great): http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs32/f/2008/227/7/5/Hellas_Hoplite_by_Nath anRosario.jpg How it works: Its a familiar with its own AI, health, defense, etc. The AI will make sure that he stays within a certain radius of Prometheus and will also be within a certain angle of you (basically he will try to stay within a certain cone). Within that cone he will attack (his AI) the same as any lane minion: Attack anything at sight, but priotize enemy gods when aggroed. You can have only 1 out at a time and this familiar can be affected by buffs(this works on all familiars), heals (this normally doesnt work on familiars, but it does on minions and he is a hybrid between the two), etc. This gets affected like any god (so it can be CCed, even Anubis stun for example).

Also of course this minion can block enemies. If the minions movement speed cant keep up with you, because you stole Neiths backflip for instance, then he just teleports. Finally the new values only go into effect when he is resummoned, So not directly when you level up the ability and he is still out there. Purpose of this ability: This ability is pretty similar to Vulcan (both are also gods of technology) and it serves the same purpose. This ability can be used mainly for farming and pushing, but also can catch the enemies projectiles when lucky. But this familiar at least have to be twice as sturdy as Vulcans inferno cannon, because he is melee and to make sure he doesnt die to fast (I even want him to make 3-4 times as sturdy as Vulcans). This ability also makes sure Prometheus doesnt have to think too much about farming himself, so that he can focus more and his other parts (mainly ability 4 needs extra focus). This also gives him synergy with his first and second ability. See this ability as his personal body guard. Also this skill has a fairly long CD with high mana cost, because I dont want to this to be a spam skill, but that you should take care of your bodyguard.

Ability 4: The Theft of Fire

OK, read through it from start to end, because a lot is needed to get this skill right, but I think its doable. Prometheus targets an enemy god (easiest would be like Loki, but I go for Aphrodites way) by having a line targeted and showing a torch fire icon, which is selected (this cant go through walls and can be blocked), once the skill activates Prometheus extracts fire from the enemy and steals there latest used ability from them. This also gives him a passive stack. Additionally the enemy hit with it is silenced everything, which isnt silenced by cripple (with the exceptions of movement abilities) and disarmed (cant AA) for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds (, because their fire/power is stolen). CD: 30/25/20/15/10s Mana: 10/20/30/40/50 This can only be non-ult abilities (with maybe some future additional expectations) and the level of the skill is set by the level of the ability from the enemy, when you stole it. Therefore the damage numbers, manacost, etc. is dependents on that. If you use this skill when the last ability was an ult, then the ability for that will be stolen from the enemy. Every stolen spell can only be used once, once its used the ability changes again in your theft of fire. Also keep in mind that you have to pay mana cost to steal the ability and again to use the stolen ability. Also the enemy still can use their copy of their skill and when you have stolen an ability your ability icon and tooltip will temporary change. The CD of the stolen ability is non-existent, but there is an CD for spell steal. Also if you steal a physical damaging ability your magic power will for that ability be converted with the normal conversion rate of magical power : physical power as 2:1. Finally to make this really work

the FX of the enemy is also stolen, but Prometheus will have besides an animation to steal the spell also have generic animations for the different types of abilities out there (like Bacchus has multiple animations), think about animations for: jumps, dashes, projectiles, buffs, line attacks, cone attacks, etc. Also the extra CC (no non escape abilities and no AAs) for a few seconds goes well with that fire is seen as a form of power and gives him something to level this skill more and makes this with his ability 2 the perfect anti initiation ability, because enemies with this CC cant attack you, but you still give them the means of escape. If the partly silence is too difficult to implement it also can be changed to a normal silence. This ability gives him a lot of utility, but you have to keep attention and be strategic to get the most of it (it also helps if you know what all the others gods do). This also allows him to counter other gods fairly well (and beat them at their own game).
