FIRE RATING and ACOUSTIC With many years of re and acoustic testing around the world Boral have accumulated a wealth of expertise and knowledge with a wide range of system test reports. Indicates that a test report is available Indicates a prediction based on expert opinions, test reports from other similar tests or specialist calculation software like Marshall Day. Fire tests results shown in the ceiling performance tables meet the requirement of either: BS 476: part 22 1987 Methods for determination of the re resistance of non-loadbearing elements of construction or BS 476: part 23 1987 Methods of determination of the contribution of components to the re resistance of a structure. CEILING SAFETY BORAL Ceiling Systems are classed a non-traf cable ceilings and should not be walked upon by installers or other trades people. For traf cable solutions contact: BORAL Technical Support Centre

Note: For maximum centres of BORAL SUPRACEIL main runners, cross runners and hangers refer to performance tables on pages 2.3 and 2.4.
BORAL Smart Connector Used for joining BORAL SUPRACEIL runners together to extend in length. When used to join two SUPRACEIL cross runners, no additional xing is required. When used to join two SUPRACEIL main runners the BORAL Smart Connector must be secured to the main runners using four BORAL Wafer Head Self Tapping Screws as shown opposite. Also used for horizontal to vertical connections. Cut out sides of BORAL Smart Connector at the pre-punched slots, bend the connector to a 90o angle, insert into runners and screw x both runners to the connector. Movement control joints Movement control joints are required in ceilings at intervals not exceeding 10 metres in any direction, and where the ceiling crosses or abuts a structural movement joint. Jointing All joints should be taped and jointed as speci ed in this manual, refer to the Finishing Solutions section for details Main runner position Cross runner position

BORAL FIRELOCKTEE Exposed Grid Ceiling System is typically used for commercial and industrial applications which require aesthetic ceiling nishes or easy access to the ceiling void above. The system consists of high quality pre-painted metal sections that form a grid when easily locked together into which high quality BORAL Ceiling Tiles can be installed. The system is suspended from sof ts by using the BORAL hanger system which incorporates the BORAL Fix Spring for easy adjustments to ceiling atness during installation. This system also incorporates a design feature that can allow the ceiling tiles to be secured into position during installation by using the BORAL Locking Clip if required. Performance The selection of BORAL Ceiling Tiles will depend on the aesthetics requirement, ease of cleaning and if sound absorption performance is required. Due to the extensive range of BORAL Ceiling Tiles and regular introduction of new aesthetic designs contact BORAL Technical Support Centre for further information. Safety BORAL FIRELOCKTEE Exposed Grid Ceiling System is classed as a nontraf cable ceiling and should not be walked upon by installers or other trades people.
