Constitution of the

Northern Fairfield County Reagan Club

Article I – Name and Objectives

I. The name of this organization shall be the Northern Fairfield County Reagan Club.

II. The objectives of this organization, hereinafter referred to as “Club”, shall be:
a. To provide an opportunity for people to find political expression, information, and
recognition within the local, state, and national Republican Party.
b. To facilitate the training of Republicans as effective political workers so that they
may cooperate in the election of the Republican Party’s nominees.
c. To facilitate the training of prospective candidates for public office in campaign
strategy and tactics.
d. To foster and encourage the activities of the Republican Party and promote its
endorsed candidates and ideals.

Article II – Membership

I. Full voting membership in this Club shall be available to any individual upon compliance
with the following conditions:
a. The payment of an annual membership fee of $20 per person.
i. The payment of the annual membership fee shall be reduced to $10 per
person if the prospective member is a high school or college student.
b. Must be a registered Republican.
c. Must live in Fairfield County.

II. Associate membership in this Club shall be available to any person who fails to meet the
requirements outlined in Article II, Section I, (b) and/or (c) of this constitution, but who
otherwise meets the requirements of Article II, Section I, (a), (i).

III. Full and associate members will be accorded all rights and privileges under this Club’s
constitution and by-laws, except that associate members shall not be permitted to vote on
Club matters or make motions for the Club to act upon.

Article III – Officers

I. The officers of this Club shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

II. The duties of the officers shall be as prescribed in the By-Laws.

III. Officer elections shall be held at the November meeting each year. Officers shall take
office upon their election.
IV. Officers shall be elected in the manner prescribed in the By-Laws.

Article IV – The Executive Board

I. The Executive Board shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer,
Representative to the County Republican Party, Programming Committee Chair,
Fundraising Committee Chair, and Political Education Committee Chair. The Executive
Board shall meet at the call of the President and at such times as may be necessary upon a
majority vote of the members of the Executive Board.

Article V – Vacancies

I. Written notification will be provided to members in the event of a vacancy in an Officer’s


position. This written notification must occur seven (7) days prior to any election to fill
the vacancy. For the purposes of this article, email shall be considered to be written
notification.

Article VI – Parliamentary Provisions

I. Robert’s Rules of Order (Latest Edition) shall govern all proceedings except when
inconsistent with the Constitution and By-Laws of this Club.

Article VII – Amendments

I. This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the membership.

II. The text of any such amendments shall be mailed to all members in writing at least two
(2) weeks prior to the meeting at which the amendment will be voted on. Any
amendment shall be effective from the point of passage, unless otherwise provided for in
the amendment.
