How is the Syrian Revolution understood by tracing Syrias history?

The Syrian Revolution is understood by tracing its history because of Syrias problems with their government, the problems with their leader, their problems with neighboring countries, and problems with their economy.

Syria has problems with their government

Evidence (at least three examples necessary to support argument)


Syrias government used violence against Syrian citizens because they thought that it would end the protesting but really, it just caused more anger throughout Syria. According to BBC Timeline about Syria, in 2011, Security forces fire weapons in to crowds of protesters protesting the abuse three teens received after they graphitized things about President Assad.

According to CNN News, An uprising started after three teens were abused supposedly unlawfully after spray things on walls about President Assad.

Syria has problems with their leader

According to YALIBNAN, there is a political cartoon of President Assad at a podium and saying how he will end the killings with more killing. According to Britannica, Assad won a second term but this made some angry because the polls said that he got 100% of all votes and made critics denounce the election

BBC News says that President Assad did nothing to stop the government from abusing the three teenagers who wrote things about President Assad on public walls of Syria.

Syria has problems with other countries

Evidence (at least three examples necessary to support argument)


According to CNN, Israel is paying most attention to Syria because the leader of Israel, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, that they do not want any part in the Syrian Revolution and want to insure that no Syrian people cross the border. According to BBC, Syria bombed Baghdad, Iraq. But a year later they restore their ties but it made President Assad look bad because there was no real good reason why he order this.

PRC says that Palestine was at one point betrayed by the Syrian People and wanted to be loyal to them in order not to cause major conflict.

Syria has problems with their economy

Evidence (at least three examples necessary to support argument)


According to Heritage.org that the ongoing political turmoil that put their economy in the gutter and it lead to the civil war they have today. MSU says that before the day of the start of the civil war, that Syrias economy kept going down because of their lack of exportation of oil and lack of oil production.

In the New York Times, it says that due many buildings and public places being destroyed along with slashed personal savings.
