Emphasis on Practical Skills- The thrust would be on practical aspect beside theoretical inputs through Personality Development classes: Presentation skills, Communication skills, Analytical skills, Listening skills; and Problem solving abilities. Communication Lab Communication Lab will be used for soft skill development Industryinstitute Interface IndustryInstitute interaction is desired to be established with two purposes: On the ground training (OGT); and Industry expert lectures, etc. Foundation Courses Foundation Courses have already started in this session for Accounting and Economics. Value Added Courses Technical knowledge is desirable today so students would be trained in the following areas: Computerised Accounting e.g. Tally 9.0 NIIT Swift covering Microsoft Powerpoint/Excel/Word Workshop on Banking We will conduct workshop by lining up with the banking officials covering the banking activities such as Filing of pay-in-slips; Cheques; Depositing; and Withdrawing cash. Beside this they would also be visiting the bank branch to understand the functioning of the banking activities. Workshop on Research Methodology This time thrust would be more on the research aspect so a workshop would be arranged making them understand the nuances of the subject Project Work As the part of the course curricula the students are supposed to submit the project-work. Visiting Faculty Guest lectures would be given by the visiting faculties form various Universities/institutions covering the aspect of the courses syllabus. Remedial classes for weak students The classes for weaker students in their respective subjects would be arranged by the teachers after the regular classes are over. Online Quiz/Puzzle Online quizzes would also form the part of the activities conducted where the students can attempt the objective type questions. Use of Open Education Resource and Internet Various publishing companies supply the subject material on their websites. The students would be told about the links of such websites from where they can take necessary help. Study Material/Handouts The Study Material/Hand-out of the course would also be supplied to the students in soft copy and if possible in the hard copy form also. Recent innovations- Developments in the field of computers and information technology has influenced the way business is transacted. The students would be given information about the recent innovations taking place. e-commerce/ m-commerce, e-marketing/advertising, e-investment, e-banking, e-recruitment, Outsourcing business; and Call centre activities. Entrepreneurship Training- All people are not job seekers. Some of them go for entrepreneurship and start their enterprise also. Commerce as a subject develops entrepreneurial values and attitude among the students so that they will be motivated to be: enterprising, creative, risk bearing, taking initiative ; and induced to take up their own venture. Industrial Visit - The students get the feel of the industry by watching Production process Storage of raw materials Packing and grading of goods Visit to National Stock Exchange, Delhi In order to give the students an idea about the actual working of industrial centers and stock exchanges the visit would be made to National Stock Exchange, Delhi where they would come to know the process of: Buying and selling of shares Listing of securities etc. Visit to Exhibitions, Trade Fair Students understand the significance of different products and performing of various trade transactions. Market Studies Students will be encouraged to conduct market studies regarding: Marketing of goods Advertisements Methods of Sales Promotion etc. For this purpose they would be assigned the topics by the teachers. Case Studies, role plays, success stories, Ad-Mad show, discussions, debates, essay writing slogan competitions, poster making will also be the integral part of the activities.
