a
Blip?
By
Ziad
Aazam
In
the
course
of
my/our
finite
life,
have
I/we
asked
myself/ourselves
the
following
four
sets
of
question
types?
1. Do
I
know
MYSELFmy
own
unique
I?
Do
I
know
my
purpose
in
life,
my
strengths
and
weaknesses,
my
values
and
principles,
my
skills
and
capacities?
Do
I
know
what
I
want
from
life
and
my
place
in
it?
Do
I
know
what
others
want
from
me
and
whether
or
not
I
can
satisfy
their
needs
and
wants?
Do
I
feel
what
I
experience
or
I
go
with
the
flow
like
a
piece
of
wood
drifted
by
a
sea
of
waves?
Do
I
have
a
sense
of
poetic
imagination,
as
a
sensible
human
being,
or
I
operate
like
a
machine
run
on
monetary
fuel,
greed
incentive
and
vicious
power
control?
Do
I
think
and
feel
at
the
same
time,
or
I
wake
up
everyday
to
breathe
and
eat,
as
if
yet
another
creature
among
the
animals
and
plants
of
this
planet
earth?
Do
I
know
where
I
am
in
Space
and
Time
and
in
relation
to
other
Humans
and
Things?
Do
I
dream
my
dream
and
hope
my
hope,
or
beg
and
borrow
someone
elses
dreams
and
hopes?
2. Do
you
know
the
THINGyour
Gods
given
IT?
Do
you
know
what
Nature
has
given
you,
the
materials,
the
foods,
the
things
we
call
objects
and
resources?
Do
you
have
your
values
and
principles,
your
skills
and
capacities
aligned
with
these
Gods
given
blessingsthe
opportunities
we
call
Things?
Do
you
respect
the
stone,
the
soil,
your
Soul,
the
tree,
your
Heart,
the
rock,
the
mountain,
the
water,
your
Body,
the
air,
the
metal
in
your
hand,
your
Mind
in
your
body,
the
wood
in
your
house
and
All
Things
that
come
from
Earth
and
return
to
Earth?
Do
you
understand
the
relationship
between
You,
Nature
and
Science
and
what
the
application
of
science
mean?
Do
you
balance
your
Subjective
view
of
the
World
with
the
Objective
view
of
it,
or
you
see
these
Things
as
objects
taking
control
over
Humans
and
Nature
itself?
Do
you
understand
the
difference
between
the
Organic
and
the
Artificial,
or
you
take
Things
as
they
come
your
way,
like
a
helpless
bird
entangled
in
its
own
nest?
Do
you
value
the
object
you
make,
the
Artifact
you
create
as
a
human
being?
Do
you
understand
your
own
external
innovative
relationship
with
Nature
and
your
own
internal
creative
relationship
within
your
own
Humans
spirit?
3. Do
we
know
OURSELVESour
own
unique
WE?
Do
we
know
our
strengths
and
weaknesses,
our
values
and
principles,
our
collective
skills
and
capacities?
Do
we
know
where
we
came
from,
our
place
and
history,
where
we
are
now
and
where
we
are
going
as
a
society
and
culture?
Do
we
know
what
we
can
offer
the
world
and
what
we
need
from it? Do we function as nested societies with higher objectives, operating towards integrated cultural values, or we run around scattered, wasting collective energy to achieve individual gains? Do we contribute to our nested societies and diversified culture to restore our Civilization, or we blindly consume products others make, mindlessly operate gadgets and apply procedures others provide, thoughtlessly mimicking ideologies others spread? Do we collectively respect the Things that Nature offers and shape them into the Things we need to satisfy the purpose of our existence, or we follow the crowd that follows whims and reckless leads? Do we have a human and material culture rooted in space and time, or we create our values from thin air? 4. Do we know the Thingsour Gods given ITS? Do we understand how a finite number of Things, working together in relationships, create structures and systems necessary for Nature and Humans to function? Do we have our values and principles, our collective skills and capacities aligned with these Gods given blessings towards restoring our Civilization and its place among others, or we corrupt functioning structures and systems with our ignorance, greed, individual gains, lack of wise judgment and poetic imaginations? Do we produce structures and systems of functioning Things based on our own internal values, purposes, needs and capacities, or we jump up and down, wiggle left and right and be pushed and pulled by others as if we have no God given Minds, Hearts and Souls of our own? Are we able to perceive, conceive and live in ecosystems, resource systems, economic systems, social systems, political systems, urban systems, educational systems, and global systems, while affecting external positive transformation without compromising our internal Higher Objectives and Human sanity and right? Can I and WE revive the notion of what God created us to BEIntegral Human Beings? Let us ask ourselves: Are we Humans with Wise Judgment and Poetic Imagination? Did you read the above questions as a thoughtful human who is serious about his or her own existence, or as a blipped mind clicking his or her way through the Digital World, perceiving these four sets of question types as yet another post that doesnt deserve more than a Like? 2012 Ziad Aazam http://spacewriting.wordpress.com/
