TODAY Welcome! This morning Pastor Steve continues the sermon series, From Poverty to Plenty the Book of Ruth. In the evening our pastoral intern, Micah Shin, concludes his series from I John, Love Illuminated. In the evening service, we also observe the Lords Supper. Wine is placed in the center & middle of the tray and grape juice on the outside ring. Because of your generosity, Cedar Church was able to support her with a gift of $480. Heidi sent this note, Dear Cedar Church, Thank you so much for your invitation to come see you and for your kind reception and encouragement. And thank you also for your gift! It is so helpful and I am very grateful. Reception of New Members - Cedar session is pleased to announce we will receive Jon & Jenny denHollander by letter of transfer on Sunday morning, August 18th. On Sunday morning, August 25th, we will receive Meagan Hagerty by letter of transfer. Sunday School Today is the last meeting of Sunday School & Small Groups for our summer session. Sunday school will resume again on September 15.

On Wednesday evening, September 11th, Pastor Steve will hold a membership seminar from 7:00 8:30 PM at HCS for anyone interested in church membership. Please register at www.cedarchurch.net or through a Connection Card. Hikes with Pastor Steve - Our next summer hike with Pastor Steve will be held this Friday, August 16 at Grand River Park. Upland woods, floodplain forest, restored native grasslands, wetlands and a small lake are some of the features of this 162 acre park along the banks of the Grand River. Grand River Park is located in Georgetown Township. From the intersection of Fillmore Street and 28th Avenue, travel north on 28th Avenue to the park entrance. Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water bottle, flashlight, bug spray. COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS JV Basketball Coach Needed - Zion Christian School is looking for a coach for its boys JV basketball team. Please contact Athletic Director Joel Bont at jbont@zionchristian.net if you are interested. Pop Cans - 15,000-20,000 pop cans are needed by Love INC to complete an inter-church collaborative event involving youth. If you would be willing to donate pop cans for this project, please bring them to Love INC at 3300 Van Buren Street, Hudsonville, Door D2.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS Volunteers Needed - Do you manage your familys finances? Do you have a desire to serve out your faith by helping others who are struggling to make ends meet? The LOVING HELP Program is continually in need of Budget Mentors and Work Book Leaders. The time commitment is 1 hour per week on Thursday evenings or Wednesday mornings (free childcare available). Training, materials, and consistent guidance are provided. Zion Christian Golf Outing: Mark your calendar and plan to join us this fall for our golf outing at Diamond Springs Golf Course on Saturday, September 21. Meijer Simply Give - The Hudsonville Love INC will be the recipient of the next Meijer "Simply Give" campaign from July 28-September 28. Customers can make a $10 donation at the Jenison Meijer by scanning a "Simply Give card" or handing the card to the cashier. Money raised will help stock the food pantries in the Hudsonville Love INC network. Meijer will provide financial support based on the level of participation which increases the donation. Cards are available in the Love INC office, Love's Treasures Resale Store and the Outback (3300 Van Buren, Hudsonville). Jehovah Jireh Ministries - is looking for a few good men (or women) to help once or twice a month (or more) in the following areas: Monday morning food pickup, Thursday afternoon distribution, Thursday evening - clean building, Friday evening sort & pack food.
