search for meaning in the poems, Pied Beauty and ONE other of your own choosing (Gods Grandeur or Spring) ? In your response, make detailed reference to the poems. Structure the above response as a mini essay an introduction, two body paragraphs comparing the poems and a conclusion.

Hopkins is able to represent his search for through the poems "Pied Beauty and God's Grandeur. These poems are both detailing the presence of God and the impact of nature and the harms that man have done. The context behind the creation of these poems meaning is displayed in seeing god in nature through the world that he has been put in. The poem Gods Grandeur has direct references to the links between a personal relationship that Hopkins has with god and how this is displayed in the relationship that humans have with nature. wears man's smudge is Hopkins using personification of the world clothed in mans damage. He is emphasising the damage the humans are causing on the world and likening it with a dirty smudge also referencing the technological advances of his age. Exploring such devices of nature is never spent and Holy Ghost over the bent are the bright side of this poem and displaying how Hopkins was able to find meaning in a God who looks over us. The exaggerated hyperbola of never again begins exploring how we can draw meaning from the knowledge that nature will always live through. Hopkins search for meaning is one of struggle and relationships between god and the natural world and these ideas are portrayed in this poem. Pied Beauty explores mans relationship with the personal relationship with God and how we can draw meaning from this. Praise Him is how this poem ends and the tone at this stage has turned this poem almost into a poem like text. The stance that Hopkins has taken here and the reasons for ending the poem on prayer stance can be interpreted as the links that Hopkins is saying that he and nature has with god. This kind of link between man and a godly figure is one that would give meaning and a platform for a strong moral compass that comes through in these poems. These two poems are both displaying examples of how Hopkins is representing his search for meaning through the biblical allusions and the constant references to nature. These two themes are linked in the divinity of god and display how not only is Hopkins searching for meaning but what path he has decided to take.
