AZQ Installation Manual for HTC Explorer

Before we begin
Installing AZQ on HTC Explorer consists of 5 steps (20 minutes)
1. Getting your PC/Phone ready : (5 minutes) Skills needed : Copy, paste, Installation on PC 2. Unlocking the phones Bootloader : (10 minutes) Skills needed : Chrome Browser Skill, Entering command lines, (This is the most complex part, the rest is cakewalk compared to this) 3. Installing ClockworkMod on HTC Explorer : (2 minutes) Skills needed :Pressing volume, power button 4. Installing AZQ on HTC Explorer : (2 minutes) Skills needed : Pressing volume, power button 5. Final QC check : (1 minute) Skills needed : using the touchscreen

Achtung/Warning!
Please make sure that the phones battery is fully charged before following these steps!

You will need

1. HTC Explorer with SD card inserted 2. PC with Windows XP/Vista/7, Chrome browser,Winzip and internet connection 3. USB Cable

Getting your PC ready

1. Create a folder called azqinstaller on your C: Directory

1.1 Right click -> New -> Folder 1.2 Name it azqinstaller

Downloading the installer package 2. Download and Extract azqinstaller.zip to c:\azqinstaller Type/Paste this link on your address bar and press enter

Extract to c:\azqinstaller

Installing HTC Driver

3. Inside c:\azqinstaller\1_unlock, Double-click to Install HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe

Now that you have all the files and drivers, lets get the phone ready

3. Enable USB Debugging on your phone

2. Scroll down to Settings and click

3. Connect your phone to the PC Via USB Cable

1. Open your browser and go to www.htcdev.com

2. Click on Register and fill in the form

3. Registration confirmation message will appear

4. Go to your mailbox and complete the registration

5. Account Activation message will be displayed

6. Now you can login!

Enter your user name/password

7. Once you have logged in, choose Unlock Bootloader

8. Click on Get started

9. Click on Select your Device

10. Choose All Other Supported Models

11. Click on Begin Unlock Bootloader

12. Click Yes, tick all boxes and then click proceed

13. Make sure the phone is plugged in to your PC with USB Debugging Enabled, then Go to c:\azqinstaller\1_unlock and doubleclick on azqinstaller_step1.bat to put your phone in bootloader mode

14. Your phone screen should look like this, notice FASTBOOT USB On the screen, you are now ready to proceed

15. On the HTCDEV Website, scroll down and click proceed to step 5, then skip the next page until we reach step

16. Go to c:\azqinstaller\1_unlock and doubleclick on azqinstaller_step2.bat

17. You will see a long block of text. Copy and paste this text into the the token field on HTCDEV Website (in the command prompt: Right Click > Mark > highlight the block of text > Right click to copy).

18. Follow the instructions closely

19. Paste this string of text into the token field and click Submit in order to receive your unlock code binary file. You will receive this information in your email.

20. In your mail box, an email with this message will appear

21. Download this file to C:\azqinstaller\1_unlock

22. Go to c:\azqinstaller\1_unlock and doubleclick on azqinstaller_step3.bat

Make sure your Unlock_code.bin is already in this folder

Achtung/Warning!
If the Unlock_code.bin used isnt the one generated from the phone currently connected to your pc, it will not run!

23. After step 22, this screen will appear Use the Volume up to move the checkbox to "Yes", then use the Power button to proceed. Your phone will now restart!
1. Press Volume up 2. Press Power

After restart, your phones bootloader is now unlocked, now we need to enable USB debugging again before proceeding with the installation

1. Scroll down to Settings and click

1. In the azqinstaller\2_install_clockworkmod, doubleclick on azqinstaller_step4.bat

3. Wait a few minutes while important files are pushed into the phone. At the end of this process, the phone will boot into bootloader mode

3.1 If the following lines doesnt appear in 5 minutes and he phone doesnt restart into bootloader mode, please close the window and run azqinstaller_step4.bat again

4. At the end of step 3, the phone will boot into bootloader mode

5. Press the phones power button, it will bring you to HBOOT_USB_PLUG Screen, notice HBOOT_USB_PLUG

5. Click volume down to choose Recovery and press the power button again to enter Recovery mode

1. The screen will display the HTC logo for a while then enter the recovery screen , use volume down to move the cursor to backup and restore then press the power button

1. use volume down to move the cursor to restore then press the power button

2. Press the power button again to restore the AZQ image file

1. use volume down to move the cursor to Yes then press the power button

2. After Restoration is complete, press the power button to reboot the system and complete the installation process

Final QC check
Congratulations! Now AZQ is installed into your explorer, the force is indeed strong with you!

1. AZQ should be accessible with all default scripts
