The Dead Poets Society

This is a film which has made me think about life and the future. The story is based in the lives
of a group of boys in a private and expensive school. It is a very realistic film because it talks about
realistic elements of life.

The Dead Poets Society is a dramatic film. Neil wanted to be an actor but his father, who could
not do what he wanted to when he was young, wants Neil to be a doctor. Mr. Keating, Neil’s teacher,
told him to decide his future and do what he really likes and loves. But his father insists on him study-

Funny Games
***
The film that provoked a lot of controversy in the late 90’s, has now returned
with different actors and atmosphere. Anna, George and their son have gone out
to their summer country house on holiday. Paul and Peter show up in their house
just waiting to play with them a very peculiar game…

Funny games it’s a suspense thriller film that captivates the audience from the
very first moment and makes you feel intrigues as there are some key scenes
which you can not miss. If you’re looking for a physically violent film, don’t
watch this one, but do expect shocking moments.

This remake is very appropriate if you want to be shocked or if you like films
with unusual psycho-killers.

The boy in the striped pyjamas

*****

This film has provoked a great deal of interest among all teenagers. The film
is based on the book written by John Boyne. The plot takes place in Ausch-
wiz, Germany. A period of history when Hitler was exterminating all german
jews. Jews were sent to concentration camps where they were killed. The
main character moves next to one of those camps and meets a very inter-
esting boy.

The boy in the striped pyjama is a mixture between drama and war genre. It
is a fascinating film because it shows how the jewish extermination happens
from the child's point of view. It's only possible drawback is that you may not
like the way it ends.

With a PG rating it is a marvelous film that both teenagers and adults will
enjoy.

*****

This is a film in which drama and comedy join together crating a very attractive
mixture. This movie provoked a lot of interest due to the cast; the actors that star in
it are Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Scarlet Johansson. The director is woody
Allen.

Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem give great performances and it’s genuinely in-
teresting seeing their off screen chemistry on the big screen.
Due to the language used in the film and some sex scenes people fewer than 18

This is a film that has been enjoyed by a lot of teenagers. The story is based on the life of a
couple whose, boy dies. But before he dies he leaves some letters for his girlfriend. She
goes finding the letters, where he tolds her what to do, and at the end he always says " P.S:

Sex
and the city
This is a film which acts as the final point to
the TV series which had the same name. The
story is about a group of 35-40 year old women who
live in New York who always meet to talk about their
affairs with men.

Sex and the City is a romantic comedy with lots of funny dia-
logue but also sad scenes where women’s affairs don’t go the
way they hoped. In fact the film and the TV series reflect situa-
tions that every woman can be related to but with humor. It also
reflects the great friendship that unites these four women.

With a 13 rating and both romance and comedy, this light-hearted

plot, designed to amuse, will leave the TV series followers with a sat-
isfied sensation because of its ending.

FICTION
Wall-E (5/5)

This animation has obviously provoked a great deal of interest as much because of it being one of
the latest Walt Disney’s productions as for the film itself. The story takes place somewhere in the
future where the human race has produced such an amount of rubbish that makes the Earth no
longer habitable and only one robot is left in New York City. His name is Wall-E and he is in
charge of cleaning the whole city. So he spends all his time doing his job without hesitation until
he fells in love with another new robot. Her name is Eva and she is sent by the humans from a
spaceship with a mission: find a sign of any vegetation.

Wall-E is an amusing animation full of visuals gags mixed with a really original script. Wall-E, the
main character, will soon meet your love not only for the good person he is, but also for his great
sense of humour brought to us by Disney and Pixar studios. In addition, this animation also men-
tions the environmental problems we have nowadays so that children may learn how well we have
to treat our planet.

With a PG rating and both amusing script and its great variety of funny moments, it is perfect to
make the youngest and oldest of the home have a really good time.
