The number 3. indicates that it is on the third floor (in Denmark we count it as ground floor, and then first, second and so on).TV is short for til venstre and TH is short for til hjre. Venstre = left and Hjre = right. If you are staying in i.e. 88, st.th., you are staying at block 88, on the ground floor (ground = stue) to the right.

What about insurance? We recommend that you take out insurance for the contents of your room. In case of burglary, theft or fire you alone are responsible to get the necessary insurance. We are not allowed to recommend you any company, but on Orientation Day you will hear more about the subject.

I want to move from Birkeparken? In your papers, given when you arrived, there was a termination form. You must hand it in three months prior to moving. After you move out, you will also in accordance with Danish law pay for a 14day period, where the landlord takes care of maintenance, repainting if needed and as a sort of cool-off period in case of any disputes. In connection with moving out you will have an inspection of the room with someone from the janitors office. Here you go through the room for any damages. If you have any damages in the room (i.e. made big holes in the wall, smashed a door) the repair for this will be deducted from the deposit. If there should be any damages when you move in, then you within 14 days have to contact the janitors, so they can make the necessary repairs or replacements.

How do I get my deposit back? On the termination notice you have to state your banking details. Please write the correct details very clearly. Any small mistake will delay the process. FABBO tries to return the deposit ASAP. By law the landlords have 4-6 weeks after you have moved out to return the deposit in some cases FABBO has done it within a week. Last year all students moving from Birkeparken got the total amount paid as deposit back. In comparison many landlords in the city charge for painting, administration fees, and fees for maintenance of common areas.
