EFK Batam Plants

PT ELNUSA FABRIKASI KONSTRUKSI (EFK) formerly PT PURNA BINA NUSA (PBN) is a subsidiary company of PT ELNUSA Tbk. EFK has two Plants in Batam; OCTG Supply, Oil & Gas Fabrication Construction Services Company. Both plants adjacent to each other, occupy 8.3 Ha of Elnusas 10 Ha land in front of Batu Ampar harbor. Land area of OCTG Threading Plant is around 3 Hectares. When the workload is high, we have extra 3 Ha land area for pipe storages. From the plant main gate to the port wharf is around 200M. The Plant was established in 1982. Through the years EFK has acquired many experience and manufacturing skills in producing all kinds of OCTG pipe connections and its accessories. EFK will cut and threads to both end of pipes and each pipe will be provided with its suitable coupling or connector (for big size pipes). All finished pipes will be corrosion protected and its threads are also physically protected by the suitable protectors at both ends. The finished pipes are safe for storage and transportation to well sites. The main products are all kind of OCTG finished pipes for tubing and casing utilize in oil & gas wells, either in exploration or production stages. The plant receives plain end pipes with its coupling materials either supplied by customers or EFK Pipe Trading Department. EFK is one of the largest threading plants in South East Asia. Currently EFK plant capacity is around 60,000 MT per year of pipe throughputs. Since the beginning of its operation EFK has used computer numerical control (CNC) Machines with semi automatic pipe handling systems. Currently EFK uses more than 20 CNC machines. All size of OCTG pipe connections, from tubing size 2 3/8 to 20 casing, can be produced with very high precision threads utilizing relatively new machines. EFK plant is API certified. It also has certifications to produce several premium connections with different type of threads. Premium connections require a very high precision thread. The ability to produce high quality products is one of EFK strength acquired through years of experience. The 5.2ha fabrication plant is capable of manufacturing processing modules, pressure vessels,industrial steel structures and etc.. Batu Ampar is the biggest seaport in Batam located in the west side of the island facing Singapore. There are several International Ferry Boat Ports and one International Standard Airport in Batam. The ferry boat ride from Batu Ampar Harbor Bay port to Singapore is 40 minutes. Batam islands is a Free Trade Zone area. Import & export taxes and duties are exempted.

Efficient Work Processes
To achieve work efficiency and higher production rate, the production line is arranged in such way to avoid unnecessary pipe movements. The threading machines are facing each other. Both pipe ends can be threaded immediately in sequence. The coupling bucking on and quality inspections are performed afterward good production sequences.

Plant Introduction
The 52,000 SqM Fabrication plant, located right in harbor front of Batu Ampar port, specializes in Oil & Gas Processing Modules, Compressors Modules, Process Equipments, Pressure Vessels, Steel Structures, and other Industrial Steel Structures. Originally this Fabrication Plant is one of the first Industrial plants in Batam Island. It was built in 1971 as Steel Plate Processing Plant (PSPP) of PERTAMINA producing components for oil storage tanks. Through the years ELNUSA, a subsidiary company of PERTAMINA, developed and upgraded this plant into its current condition. Currently it has 7,000 sqM covered area consist of 2,300 sqM machine shops; 4,100 sqM assembly area with overhead cranes; 10,000 sqM hardened open yards; and another possible extension of 15,000 sqM of open yard. The distance to the harbor wharf from the yards gate is around 40 M. The plant has several gates for incoming and outgoing traffic with easy roadway access.
