e know that French is the language of love and that France is the most romantic country in the world. But did you know the most important thing the French have ever been responsible for is the Renault to be more exact, the Renault Clio 4? If I could ever have a crush on something that doesnt have blood pumping through its veins, it would be the Renault Clio 4. I have met my match in so many ways.

Hickups Im not 100% sure this is a hick-up, but its still rather odd. Doing their bit for the environment, the Renault Clio does not have a CD player. It only has an auxiliary input and USB jack. So start getting your MP3s, iPods and USBs loaded Im pretty sure most of us do that already. Practical magic The key to the Clio is the size of a credit card and slightly thicker. Awesome not to have a chunky set of keys in your pocket. Equally impressive was the joy I experienced when I was looking for somewhere to place my can of RedBull and saw the two cup holders. Nothing worse than a can flying all over the show! Thanks, Renault, for answering my prayers. Think Need for Speed when it comes to the dashboard. With chrome-like finishes allround and touch screen media centre/satnav you cant ask for more. One of my favourite little features on the Clio is the LED daytime running lights, which are standard across the range. This is a keen safety feature keeping you bright and visible on the road at all times as well as looking awe-

some while doing so.

Hitting the bank Four doors mean four times as much fun No, wait, actually five doors; lets not forget about the boot. The boot is big enough for the entire familys luggage. This is one of the most comfortable five- seaters on the market. Big enough for Ouma and Oupa to come along for the ride, yet it doesnt take a big

chunk out of the bank account as the entry level Clio 4 will only set you back R149 000. Thats a monthly instalment of just R3 300 (over 54 months, subject to a 10% deposit and terms and conditions).

Zero to hero Interior and exterior aside, you dont want to be out-smoked on the road by a cyclist practising for the Tour de France. Thats be-

yond embarrassing. Hitting zero to hero (100km/h) in 12.2 seconds in the 66kW Turbo Expression is not bad at all. The engine is only a 0.9F, three-cylinder turbo petrol, but that doesnt compromise its performance. With the Clio 4 you are spoilt with options. There are three models in the range. From the entry level 55kW Authentique, 66kW Turbo Expression and the 66kW Turbo Dynamique.
