MP School Contact Program:

MP School Contact Program is joint initiative by Hindustan Unilever Limited, Madhya Pradesh government and UNICEF to promote hand washing among school children. Hand washing the Issue: Nearly one in five children under the age of five dies as a result of dehydration, weakened immunity or malnutrition associated with diarrhoea. The easily preventable disease kills 1.5 million a year (Unicef) Handwashing with soap is one of most cost-effective ways to prevent diarrhoea

Need for Health and Hygiene in Schools India is a high incidence country experiencing extremely high numbers of deaths due to symptoms related to diarrheal disease Important to start healthy habits early in life UNICEF and Global Partners have defined 6 actions steps around WASH (water,sanitation and hygiene) activities for school children) SOF school of five is a program run by LB & MP Govt, and Unicef to inculcate the habit of HWWS on 5 occasions amongst school going children. These 5 occasions are 1) After going to toilet 2) Before breakfast 3) Before Lunch 3) Before Dinner 4) While taking bath. Most of the diseases are caused due to bad hygiene. LB has taken up the cause to make hand washing on 5 occasions a habit. Scale of the project: No of schools to be covered = 5712 District Guna, Tikamgarh, Shivpuri (MP) No of Volunteers provided by MP Govt for the activity = 1121

Internship Details:
Role: To handle the project in a team of 5 Ensure smooth functioning of project and flow of information Add timely input and feedback to improve the school activity conducted by Volunteer Manage the supervisor (on-ground) who are doing monitoring of the volunteers by both phone calls and on-ground check Responsibility: Responsible for performance of supervisor which will in-turn affect the performance of volunteer All Reporting and communication from Supervisor side Management of supervisors (8-10 supervisor) per Intern Duration of Internship: 45 days Compensation: Rs.10,000 along with the certificate. Travel allowance and daily allowance Skill required: Good management skiils Interest to work for social cause and in rural areas Loves to travel and work out of office Experience of handling a team in any of the project\ Internship start time: 2 Jan to Feb 19
