Image Notes 1. Nylock nuts and wingnuts would make adjustments easier.
Image Notes 1. You only need one but I had two so I'm showing both top and bottom.
Image Notes 1. For safety's sake, build a jig to hold things while you drill and Dremel.

Image Notes 1. Clamp things down when cutting out the slot.
Step 3: Assembly
Once the base and uprights are done, its time to weld things up. Use some magnets, shims and/or clamps and make sure things are level and true before welding. See the pictures for what you should end up with. Using two nuts, secure a bolt in each uprights slot. Position the base pieces back-to-back and place the magnet at the base between the uprights; The magnet holds the base pieces together but still lets you slide them side-to-side to adjust the opening. The bolts can be adjusted up and down by loosening/tightening the nuts (hand-tight is fine, though wingnuts would be an improvement). Theres enough adjustment range to setup for both lateral and radial trueness.

Image Notes 1. Ugh, my welding mojo deserted me and these are pretty ugly!

Either couold provide you with a nast cut. If you don't have an angle grinder, you can get one at Harbour Freight for $10.00 and up...they are available at many other retailers also.
