Background
The purpose of adult training is to assure that all troop leaders understand their role and
have the knowledge and tools to appropriately serve in that role while following all
policies of the Boy Scouts of America. Erie Shores Council BSA provides a flowchart

Today much required training is available on-line. The Boy Scout Scouts of America
National Council provides on-line training resources at http://olc.scouting.org. To
participate in on-line training you will be asked to register with an email address and
password.
Required Training
Adult Leaders must complete required training below before serving as leader for any
troop meetings or events. A training certificate must be provided to the Secretary of the
Troop Committee as evidence of course completion. Prior to completing this training
they may not serve as a leader and can only be considered an observing parent or guest.
