BJC BRISTOL-CHINA BUSINESS EXCHANGE 2013/14

An official exchange of young business professionals between Bristol and China

Bristol Junior Chamber

WHY? If your business or your clients do or want to do business in China its vital that your young professionals (aged under 40) understand business culture in China. The Chinese approach to doing business is significantly different to the Western style of doing business and you will only add real value to your business, clients and shareholders once youve got real life experience to offer. WHY BJC? The Bristol Junior Chamber has exclusive agreements in place with counterparts in China due to a UK Foreign Office sponsored programme with the All China Youth Federation. BJC has direct relationships with the Secretary General of the All China Entrepreneurs Association, the All China Youth Federation and party officials in Guangzhou and Tianjin relationships that money alone cant buy! WHEN? Were hoping to co-ordinate a 7 10 day visit to China in 2014 and a hosted visit to Bristol in the same year [All TBC]. WHO? The BJC Bristol-China Business Exchange is open on a first-come-first-served basis to young professionals (aged under 40) in Bristol with an interest in China. At the time of writing the delegation will be limited to 5 - 7 delegates.

HOW MUCH? Sponsoring businesses will be asked to contribute between [1999.99 - 2499.99]* to cover the cost of sending a young professional out to China. This cost covers flights and visa to China plus a contribution towards the costs of hosting the return visit in Bristol in 2014 (covering accommodation, transport and food costs). Training sessions, special networking events and exclusive presentation opportunities for your business are all included within this cost. All inward costs (other than flights and visa, as above) are covered by the hosting party (i.e. UK delegates will be hosted at the pleasure of the Chinese Government whilst in China. The UK is expected to offer the same service on return visit, hence the required contribution to return hosting costs.) WHAT DOES MY BUSINESS GET OUT OF IT? Not only will you have an in-house expert on Chinese business culture, with connections in China to boot, but you will be offered the chance of promoting your business during the return delegation of Chinese professionals in 2014. BJC also works in cooperation with the Bristol China Partnership and regional representatives from the China Britain Business Council and the UK Department of Trade and Industry. Exchange delegates will be given exclusive access to expert briefings and events hosted by our partner organisations in Bristol.
