Network Analysis - Integrated AC & DC System network analysis - integrated AC & DC systemETAP is a fully integrated AC and DC electrical power

system analysis tool. Engineers use ETAP in thousands of compa nies and electric utilities worldwide in the design, analysis, maintenance, and operation of electrical power systems. DC network utilizes the same database as AC modules. DC Load Flow and DC Short C ircuit provide analysis capabilities for engineers to design and maintain DC pow er systems. Battery Discharge and Sizing Analysis is used to select the most app ropriate battery banks, verify the maximum capability of existing batteries, and easily simulate a wide range of backup, control, and other DC scenarios. Real-Time Monitoring & Simulation real-time monitoring & simulationETAP Real-Time is a suite of software tools tha t offers a fully integrated enterprise solution. Through continuous monitoring, simulation, and optimization of electrical, proce ss, manufacturing, and management systems that are in place, ETAP can maximize t he entire production process, reduce losses, and increase profits. Protective Devices - Device Coordination / Selectivity protective device coordination / selectivity ETAP Star device coordination is a new concept in performing steady-state and dynamic device coordination, selectiv ity protection, and testing. This is achieved by utilizing intelligent one-line diagrams, comprehensive device libraries, and an integrated three-dimensional da tabase. Star is a fully integrated module within ETAP. Automatic Relay Testing & Transient Simulator relay testing & transient simulator ETAP Automatic Relay Testing and Transient S imulator (ARTTS) system includes three high-precision test devices in one set. A RTTS can test a variety of protective relays including distance relays, as well as energy meters and transducers. ARTTS power system tools utilizes advanced ha rdware and software technologies for testing, simulating, and calibrating relays and comparing the actual test response with the manufacturer published data. Panel Systems - ANSI & IEC panel systems Developed for electrical designers and engineers, the Panel System s module combines a graphical user interface and the intelligence of ETAP to eas ily design and analyze low voltage distribution systems. Coupled with exclusive features and advanced capabilities, Panel Systems is a quality electrical power tool you would only expect from the leader in power system analysis software. Ground Grid Systems ground grid systems Ground Grid Systems module enables engineers to quickly and accurately design and analyze ground protection. Advanced 3-D technology integra tes with one-line diagrams, allowing engineers to visualize their ground systems and seamlessly utilize short circuit results. Flexible design methodologies all ow for quick auto-designed layouts or very detailed schemes. Color-coded graphic al plots provide impressive results. User-Defined Dynamic Models user-defined dynamic models User-Defined Dynamic Models (UDM) builds and compile

s the control block diagrams used by the Transient Stability and Generator Start -Up modules of ETAP. UDM models can be used in multiple machines with independen t settings within unlimited projects. UDM provides independent self-testing via load rejection, load acceptance, and terminal bus faults for validation of model s and their dynamic behavior.

top of page Cable Thermal Analysis underground thermal analysis Cable Thermal Analysis helps engineers to design ca ble systems to operate to their maximum potential while providing secure and rel iability operation. The advanced graphical interface allows for design of cable raceway systems to meet existing and future needs by using precise calculations to determine required cable sizes, their physical capabilities, and maximum dera ted ampacity. In addition, transient temperature analysis computes temperature p rofiles for cable currents, reducing the risk of damage to cable systems under e mergency conditions.

top of page Cable Pulling cable pulling Accurate prediction of cable pulling forces is essential for the p roper design of cable systems. This knowledge makes it possible to avoid under-e stimated and/or over-conservative design practices to achieve substantial capita l savings during construction. The Cable Pulling module accounts for multiple ca bles of different sizes and allows complex 3-D pulling path geometry. A point-by -point calculation method is performed at every conduit bend and pull point. Bot h the forward and reverse pulling tensions are calculated for determining the pr eferred direction of pull.

top of page Control Systems control systems ETAP seamlessly integrates the analysis of power and control cir cuits within one electrical analysis program. The Control System Diagram (CSD) s imulates the sequence-of-operation of control devices such as solenoids, relays, controlled contacts, multi-sequence contacts, and actuators including inrush co nditions. CSD has the capability of determining pickup and dropout voltages, los ses, and current flows at any time instance as well as overall marginal and crit ical alerts. A large library of equipment enables engineers to quickly model and simulate the action of relays associated with control interlocks after given ti me delays.

top of page Data Exchange data exchange - import / export data The ETAP Data Exchange module (DataX) is us ed to import, export, and synchronize data between external data sources and ETA P. DataX transforms legacy data into ETAP, interfaces ETAP to external architect

ure such as GIS systems, AutoCAD, Microstation, or synchronizes ETAP with other applications. Customizable data mapping, intelligent error checking, and automat ed one-line diagram generator are amongst the many utilities with DataX.

top of page GIS Map GIS map ETAP GIS Map superimposes electrical one-line diagrams with the correspo nding geographical maps of power generation, transmission, and distribution syst ems. Synchronize relevant electrical equipment information from GIS into ETAP an d maintain the relationship between them. You can open unlimited views of GIS ma ps within ETAP, allowing you to manipulate GIS maps while working in ETAP. The a nalysis results are then displayed on geographical maps providing an effortless view of the electrical power system states within GIS Map.
