Transportation and Subsistence Allowance for Training Outside Commuting Area


Transportation allowance shall not exceed the lesser of the actual cost for travel by the least expensive means of transportation
reasonably available between your home and the training facility or the cost per mile at the prevailing mileage rate authorized under
the federal travel regulations. Allowable travel includes travel at the beginning and end of the training program and for daily
commuting, in lieu of subsistence allowance, but not exceeding the amount otherwise payable as subsistence for each day of
commuting. See www.gsa.gov-POV mileage reimbursement rates. Do not claim if group transportation paid for by the Connecticut
Department of Labor has been arranged for you. Training must be outside the commuting area.

Subsistence allowance shall not exceed the lesser of your actual per diem expenses for subsistence when the training facility is
located outside the commuting area or 50 percent of the prevailing per diem rate authorized under the federal travel regulations for the
locale of the training. See www.gsa.gov-per diem rates. Subsistence includes lodging, meals and incidental expenses.
IMPORTANT: Transportation allowance for daily commuting is in lieu of subsistence allowance. Attach copies of receipts
for daily subsistence and public transportation expenses.
