Message from President and CEO Brian Hassett

A special thanks to all of the team captains, players, sponsors and volunteers for helping to put the 2013 Capital Region Community Cup tournament together. This tournament exemplifies the mission of United Way --- working together we can accomplish far more than any individual or single organization could alone. Its what we like to call living united. Today more than ever, when the challenges Brian Hassett we face can seem overwhelming, it is important to recognize that good things happen when we focus our collective energy on the issues that matter most. Our futures are linked as individuals, families, businesses and communities across the Capital Region. That means when one person succeeds, we all benefit. United Way is committed to changing lives and local conditions by focusing on the building blocks for a good quality of life. A Message from Albany County Executive Dan McCoy

Thanks to all the players and teams for coming together to raise money and awareness for this worthy cause. It is my honor to serve as a volunteer with the United Way of the Greater Capital Region so that I can join others in trying to make a difference in our community. Whether it is helping homeless veterans find a safe place to sleep and a hot meal to eat, working with abused and battered women in need of shelter and support, providing meals for children who dont have enough to eat or helping the countless others who need our help, United Way is there to lend a hand up.
