A: Battle Start Option B: Character Equip C: NEW Basara Mart D: Guides Menu E: Options Menu
Battle Start Option Upon selecting this, you'll be shown a verification screen asking if you would like to start the battle (Yes/No). Character Equip NEW Basara Mart The SB3/SH Basara Mart has been retooled. Now many items can be purchased directly from the mart. There are 3 types of items sold in the shop. Weapons, (indicated by a weapon icon), Items (indicated by a grey magatama / half a ying-yang icon) and Stat Upgrades (indicated by an Arrow Pointing Up icon). Materials collected from stages in order to create items in SB3 do not carry over and they are now used to simply unlock the ability to buy a stat upgrade for your character. Thus, completing different stages will make more stat upgrades available to buy. A character's personal item will become available for purchse for 500,000 zennys upon completion of Unification Mode with that character. Personal Items are now one single item rather than a set of 4 like in SB3/SH. Sets completed in SB3/SH can be synced into SB3U and will become the single slot Personal Item. Stat upgrades can upgrade one of 4 stats.
The description of the stat boost shows a picture of the corresponding material that allowed the boost to be purchased (available for all characters once obtained, though the stat boost must be purchased for each character). The text color (circled) indicates what stat will be raised. Red for health. Yellow for attack (depicted). Green for defense. Blue for luck. The luck stat is a hidden stat that is not dislayed in any menu. The BASARA LOTTERY can be played by pressing Triangle at this menu. Lottery chances are obtained after battles and can award a number of things from zennys to discounts on items up to a 100% (easiest way to know is once the ticket is cashed, highlighting an item will display the discounted price if a discount is active. 100% discounts are possible) or even certain items straight up. Cashing another lottery ticket while a discount is active OVERRIDES the previous discount. They do not stack. Also, exiting the Basara Mart while a discount is active, ends its effect. Guides Menu A menu to display helpful info. Two options are in this menu. The top simply displays various in-game help menu's you've come across. The bottom displays any materials you have acquired. As far as it is known, there is no way to interact with this menu or leverage any of the materials. Options Menu
Edit A: Weapon Equip B: Item Equip. C: R2 Special equip + move list. D: Ally Select E: Drive/Boost select
The character's outfit can be changed here by pressing Triangle. An extra outfit can be unlocked by clearing Unification mode with the character. Outfits obtained in SB3 can be synced with Utage (clarification needed). Note: Characters who have no Story Mode & were NPCs in SB3, do not have more than one outfit available.
Item Equip. Equip items onto our weapon. Items are no longer shared between weapons. If you have 6 of an item and have all 6 on one weapon, they will still be available to equip on another. R2 Special equip + move list. Note: Characters who have no Story Mode & were NPCs in SB3 only have one R2 special. You can tell as the character will show no available slots to learn new R2 specials in this menu. Moves are learned automatically as a character levels up. Drive/Boost select This is no longer where you choose your outfit. You now can choose the type of power up you want when you press L2 under certain conditions. The left option is the SB3/SH Hero Time which causes a slowdown effect for all enemies and gives a slight speed increase. The bar fills by defeating enemies and taking bases. The right option is the Sengoku Drive option returning from Sengoku Basara 2 and 2 Heroes. It gives a speed and attack boost. There are 3 levels to the Sengoku Drive. One level is obtained every 100 kills.
Edit
1- Nothing 2-Elemental attack (5% chance) 3- Basara gauge fills quicker, +5 more EXP from each enemies beaten 4- Elemental attack (10% chance) 5- Increase chance of getting Basara Lottery (no effect in Minigame mode) 6- x2 attack when two players use that weapon type 7- Cannot equip any items, but all treasure boxes acquired will be deluxe boxes
There are seven different types of weapons, each offering different perks (information needed) Stats and information are also listed. The top weapon is the currently equipped weapon. The bottom weapon is the highlighted weapon. The numbers for each are compared on the bottom weapon with increases indicated in blue and decreases indicated in red.
Assessoirs on weapons
A: Equipped weapon summary. B: Highlighted weapon summary. C: Weapon element indicator Characters have innate elements that cannot be changed. An elemental weapon is the only way to access the elemental properties except in very few specific cases for certain characters. D: Equipped items on equipped weapon. E: Equipped items on highlighted weapon. F: Stat bonuses provided by weapon. These bonuses are raised through weapon usage. Achieving certain feats in battle (combos, kills, etc. Information needed) causes these stats to increase. Each feat is linked to a particular stat. HP increase is the red stat, Attack Up is the yellow stat and Defense Up is the green stat. G: Basara and drive augmentation stats. Basara being the blue. Drive being the green. The Basara stat is increased via parrying in battle. The drive stat is increased via taking no damage in a battle. Information needed as to what exactly these stats augment. For the drive stat, it has been tested for drive gain (no difference in gain between a 50% stat and a 100% stat) and meter drain (Hero time lasts 12.5 second, no kills included, with both a 50% stat and 100% stat).

After clearing the last story mode, you should receive an extra messag indicating tag mode is unlocked. Only playable characters can be used for tagging. The tag feature allows you to switch between your main character and your ally. Your ally will not remotely assist you like usual. To be able to use an ally for tagging, the ally must have his ally level MAXED at level 5. This can be done by clearing 5 stages with the ally equipped or by beating a mission in Japan's event mode that awards that ally while the ally is already unlocked.
When you select a maxed ally, you will be presented with the screen depicted above. Select the TAG option on the right. To Tag in battle, hold L1 and Press X. 'Experience points gained in Tag mode are divided between both characters just like in co-op. 'Tag mode CANNOT be used while playing with a second player.

The hit point, attack power and defense stats include both the characters innate values as well as values from equipped items and weapons which stay equipped on the characters between battles. The darker area of the bars (red for HP, yellow for attack and green for defense) demonstrates the innate values. The lighter areas show the value added from items/weapons. Currency (often referred to as Zen or Zennys) is shared amongst all characters and can be acquired in nearly all modes. Character's elemental attributes cannot be changed and can only be leveraged using certain elemental weapons except in a limited number of circumstances for some characters.
Difficulty Menu
A: Normal Difficulty (Easy) B: Hard Difficulty (Normal) C: Ultimate Difficulty (Hard) D: Basara Difficulty (Utage Only)
-Basara Difficulty is unlocked by completing either a story mode campaign or a Unification campaign on Ultimate Difficulty. You will commonly be asked to select a difficulty upon completion of selecting a character. You can also reselect/change currently selected difficulty in some cases at the preperation screen by pressing Triangle.
-Completing a mission that awards an ally already unlocked (either through SB3 sync or having completed the mission once before) raises that ally's rank to max. Most missions are straightforward "defeat all the things." One is "defeat the things within 100 seconds" which is still simple and comes down to the usual "defeat the things." You can recognize this mission when you see a clock counting down from 100 in the corner (exact mission number needed) The tricky ones are Missions 4 and 10. The goal in stage 1 on Mission 4 is to defeat 200 enemies. Stage 2 is to get a 500 hit combo. Stage 3 is to knock off 10 pieces of armor (easily accomplished by using multi-hit moves). Stage 4 is to execute 3 parries (guard an attack at the last possible moment) which must be done before the boss's health is depleted (careful.. parries do damage to enemies). The goal in stage 1 on Mission 10 is to defeat 200 enemies. Stage 2 is to get a 500 hit combo. Stage 3 is the trickiest... You must destroy a leg of the "RIsing Sun" contraption you fight. It's not hard but trying to figure out the requisite is tricky if you don't know Japanese. Stage 4 is to execute 5 parries. The last stage of each of those missions is to simply defeat the boss.
Katsuga
Kasuga was sent on a mission to kill Uesugi Kenshin. However, when she had her target in sight, Kasuga fell in love with Kenshin. After failing to assasinate Uesugi she was banished from her village. From then on Kasuga served Kenshin and became his most loyal ninja. She takes her duties seriously, and due to the Kenshin's battles with Takeda Shingen (as well an implication that they are from the same ninja village) a rivalry grew between Kasuga and Sarutobi Sasuke. Additionally, the two ninja have opposite elements. She is often seen as having a rivalry with Nouhime as well, due to the other woman's role as Nobunaga's love interest and protector, and their similar personalities. Kasuga although is very beautiful, she is noted to have a very sexual appearance, with a skin-tight body suit that's open very low in the front, baring half of her breasts and some of her legs.
Matsu
Matsu is a character first introduced in Sengoku BASARA. She is the wife of Maeda Toshiie. She's more responsible than her husband but still loves him whole-heartedly. Matsu is more harsh on her nephew, Keiji Maeda, than Toshiie, but this is because she feels he has more potential than he displays. Due to her characteristics, fans call her "the ideal housewife". She has a unique ability to summon animals. InSengoku BASARA 3, she along with Toshiie are demoted to NPCs, but are again made playable (albeit Free Mode Only Characters) in Sengoku Basara 3 Utage.
Maeda Toshiie
Another of Oda's most prominent vassals, though this isn't very apparent in the games. A strong family man, he loves his wife Matsu and adopted nephew Keiji, but he doesn't have much for brains and seems to be perpetually famished, often asking Matsu for more food, even though he's had enough. He is also the usual target of Keiji's pranks which often lead him to chase Keiji around the house. Wields a trident. In the overseas release of Sengoku Basasara, Devil Kings, he is a cut character.
Hojo Ujimasa
Hojo Ujimasa is the leader of the Hojo Clan and the Lord of Odawara Castle. He was the son of Ujiyasu Hojo. Historically, Ujimasa was forced to commit suicide after being beaten in battle by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. In Sengoku Basara 3, he is NPC like in the past games and let Kotaro Fuuma, his great ninja do the fighting in battle.
Takeda Shingen
Leader of the Takeda clan, famous for its cavalry. Wields a large, imposing frame and a brilliant mind as well. Carries a giant axe. Often starts large and unnecessary brawls with Yukimura, sometimes for no reason, usually by wrestling or exchanging names while punching each other at the face. He is critically ill in Sengoku Basara 3. But in Sengoku Basara 3 UTAGE, he has been healed for his illness immidietly, thus being a playable character in the game.
Kenshin
Shinsoku
Pressing the skill button initiates the high speed movement; every time the normal combo button is pressed a Iai slash is executed. The skill lasts more after level up.
Shin'en
A void blade flies and hits distant enemies. The void blade gets bigger after level up. Priming skill.
Shinkyou
Koryu Ama no Seiun Additional button pressing raises number of hits. The number of attacks increases after level up. Counterattack technique. By raising the scabbard exactly when the enemy attack hits, Kenshin counterattacks with a quick Iai slash. After level up the counterattack strikes increase.
Katsuga
Mitsugi: Yamikeshi A large box of lightwires is created and the enemies that are caught inside, get hit. Additional button press detonates the box. After level up number of hits increases by pressing s-string button. Mitsugi: Mikagami A heathaze clone is sent forward hitting enemies. Sends more clones after level-up by pressing s-string button. Mitsugi: Murehotaru Light shuriken are thrown to attack the enemy. After leveling up number of thrown shurikens increases.
