A reasonably complicated guide to the Stop CSG Party preference selection.

The Stop CSG Party objective is to Stop Coal Seam Gas and all other forms of unconventional mining.
There are some who are suggesting we may have made bad preference deals, and while this is possible, it is equally possible our preferences will work exactly as planned. A great deal of planning, thought, and consultation with political strategists goes on in securing preferences from other parties. What we do know for certain, is that preference negotiation not only secures preferences for the way votes fall, it is a way for parties to manipulate people, through various media, to secure their vote. Weve seen this played out by the Greens. They have been very supportive of use through the preference negotiation process, and representatives have even called us and congratulated us for the good work we have done in securing the deals that we did. Then used our preference table in emails and other media to turn Green voters against us. Also, our preferences have been aligned in such a way to eliminate Family First early in the preference count. And now to explain how our preference negotiations work in supporting that message. In NSW there are 44 Parties and 110 candidate seeking a spot in the Senate. Family First have a VERY POOR deal in NSW (look at their Preferences RECEIVED list) and we are taking advantage of this for the cause. Based on the flow of preferences we believe the following will occur. We will survive longer than Family First and we will pass our preferences to The Greens as follows: Family First may get an initial rump of votes but this is unlikely to be large Family First are preferencing under a sacrificial state strategy to be strongest in Victoria.

 Family First are expecting to get Preference 2 from Palmer and Preference 3 from Australia First and 4 from Shooters Family First may be road blocked after they get Palmer and Australia First as their next preferences in line, Shooters, Lib Nats and One Nation will stay for a long time in the race and not pass to FF. Whilst Family First are road blocked we will collect Carers, Animal Justice and potentially VEP before FF get their next preference. We will be road blocked but still well in the race for a long time then we will collect Stable Population and Future Party as they fall away. Family First will fall behind us as they will be inactive until Libs Nats, Nile or One Nation fall. As Family First fall away we cannot preference them. Our preferences will progress down through the pass ultimately to finish up with the Greens as Family First and Australia First and Protectionists will have all been eliminated before we need to pass on to the Greens. This is how we see it based on best available information and detailed knowledge of how the Minor Parties Alliance works. NOW in the matter of dealing right wing parties. The reason we will survive in the race long enough to make a difference will be aided by the following: Stop CSG collects Protectionist preferences when Protectionists are eliminated very early (we get rid of the right wing party and obtain their vote BUT we are NOT endorsing them at all) These Protectionist votes would have otherwise been passed to Katter at 3, Australian Voice at 4, Social Equality at 5. Best we have them and hold back Katter. Australian Voice and Social Equality will both pass out before Stop CSG. Stop CSG holds these votes preventing Protectionists passing on at Preference 11 to Australia First or at Preference 40 to Family First. If Australia First are eliminated at 3,4 or 5 (waiting for Independent) preferences go to Build (3), Non Custodial (4), Sceptics (5) then Family First (6). As weve stated all along, we are not here to split the Green vote. We are here to ensure that a clear message is heard at a Federal Parliament level. Unconventional mining is not on.
