4 month individual licence Person First is a self-paced online learning tool designed to provide an introduction to community mental health practice. It provides new workers with a basic understanding of working from a Person First approach which should sit alongside an organisations introduction to new workers of their organisational policies, processes, service vision etc. Person First is based on the Community Mental Health Practice Framework developed by the Community Mental Health Leaders Group (led by Workforce Council and Queensland Alliance for Mental Health) and is an initiative of Project 300 in Queensland. Participants undertaking Person First should be assigned a mentor/supervisor to support them through their learning journey. A Managers/Leaders Guide is provided to provide a framework through which to support the learner. This includes overviews of activities undertaken by the learner, suggested reflective questions and examples of good practice in both service delivery and leadership. Self Mastery and Personal Control (Facilitation/ Advanced Practice) a. Facilitate meaning-making through opportunity and experience b. Support self determination c. Stimulate self-expertise 6. On confirmation of payment details the participant will be provided with an email confirmation and access details. The participants access details will expire 4 months from the confirmation date.

CERTIFICATE
Learners who complete Person First may download a Certificate of Completion which must be authorised by their organisation to certify their understanding of the topic areas. For more information please contact the Workforce Council on (07) 3234 0190 or cmh@workforce.org.au

Learners should commit at least two hours to each section which includes undertaking task work. Learners and their support person should commit to at least six hours of conversation time between sections to allow for conversations that support the participants learning. We suggest that a new worker will complete Person First over a three month period.
