Hardware Recommendations for SD Playout

Q uad core processor with 2G Hz or better (Core2Q uad, Xeon 34xx, single Xeon 55xx, single Xeon 56xx). 4G B of R AM. Dual G igabit E thernet adapter. Recommended hardware: HP P roliant DL380G 6 or G 7 with single Xeon 56xx processor 6G BR AM, mirrored system disk (e.g. SATA), local playout cache storage 4x SAS HD as striped mirror set (R AID 0/1) or 2x mirrored SSDs. Additionally for Cinegy Type option: PCIe x16 riser card option for DL380 G 6/G 7 and NVIDIA Q uadro 2000 (other cards may work but are not certified).

Note: MPE G -2 R TP encoding can take significant CPUloading. H.264 R TPencoding requires even more CP Uresources.

Hardware Recommendations for Multi-Instance Playout

W hen several Cinegy Air E ngine instances are running on the same machine, the recommended hardware configuration for the smooth playback should be revised based on the hardware recommendations for a single SD/HD channel that listed above. The exact machine configuration depends on each Cinegy Air E ngine instance configuration (input/output devices) and the media sources (video/audio codecs, effects, etc). It should be verified in each case individually.

File Format Support

Cinegy Air (optionally with Cinegy Type option) supports the use of the following file and video formats: Apple Q uickTime (supporting all locally installed codecs including alpha channel support), Apple P roR es / P roR es422, AV I (supporting all locally installed codecs including alpha channel support), AVID DNxHD (in AVID compatible MXF), DV, DV25, D V CAM, D VCP ro (DV50), DV CProHD (DV100), HD V, IMX, XDCAM SD, XD CAM HD, XD CAM HD422, XD CAM E X, MPE G -2 (I-frame and long G O P up to 1080i 4:2:2), H.264 (MP4)*, MXF with MP E G -2 Long G O P, MXF AS -03, Panasonic P2 (DV, D V50, DV100, AV C -Intra) and W indows Media.

Image Formats Support

JPE G , TIFF (with alpha), PNG(with alpha), TG A (with alpha), BMP (with alpha), G IF, image sequences / flipbooks and many more.

Audio Formats Supported

PCM/W AV, MP3, W MA, O gg Vorbis, AAC, all AVI audio codecs (with locally installed codecs).

Network
Cinegy Air IP streaming output devices support two network interfaces for streaming - primary and backup. For mission critical operations it is recommended to use up to 2 network adapters (primary and backup) for each Cinegy Air R TP /U DP output device, two dedicated separate networks as well. * MP4 H.264 files are handled by internal decoder, although in case of any issues it falls back to Q uickTime.
