Proposed Projects and Collaborations Academics and Research Committee Head: Mela dela Cruz On going: Trip to the Phuture After-event -an online brochure material which will be made available to students who were not able to attendt the said event. -Release date: July 15, 2013 1. Scholarship -Search for individuals, organizations, companies, government office/officials willing to give scholarship grants to deserving students from CPH. -We can also ask for help from CPH alumni association and from our dean. -If possible, the application grade requirement and the maintaining grade is at least 2.00 or 2.25. -Options: Full scholarship, Half scholarship, or allowance/stipend -Partner with USC academics and research for the university wide scholarship offerings. -Release date: late October or early November (before enrolment) 2. Exchange student program -Improve publicity, release posters -Coordinate with dean's office, ask them to inform us immediately once an exchange program is offered to our college in order to make a poster asap. -If possible, ask the schools offering the said program to base their criteria on leadership, talents, extra-curricular activities, willingness, character, etc and not solely on grades. 3. Blackbook For chem 14, chem 18, chem 27, chem 31: -Reproduce and bind copies of probsets -Solutions and explanation will be provided in chosen problem sets -We'll provide 2 copies of blackbook per subject. Students can borrow a copy in the library (coordinate with librarian about this) for 2 days. There's a fine of 5 pesos per day after the borrowing period ends. -Release date: November 4. Peer Tutoring -Tutorial services for chemistry subjects -Just like in LRCs peer tutoring, a list of time slots (based on the availability of the tutors) will be provided. Students could book any time slot they want. -Maximum of 5 students can book the same class -Release date: November 5. Research contest -In partnership with USC academics and research committee -The winning team will compete in university-wide research contest -Research grants will be given to all the teams participating in the contest. Ask dean for budget. -Cash prize will be given to the top 3 teams. -Release date: september Deadline of entries: Last week of December (?) Awarding: mid-January (?) 6. Video-making contest -Topic: What is PH? -Make a video (max 5 minutes) that introduces PH to everyone/best describes BSPH -Winning team will receive a cash prize. Their video will be released in career orientation for HS students The video will also be posted online. -Release date: November Deadline: mid January Awarding: last week of January

7. Career orientation for HS students -Visit schools in Metro Manila and show the video (from video-making contest). There will be an open forum afterwards. -Target students: 3rd year high school -event date: February/March 8. Med mission training -in partnership with TUGON Health committe and UP Pahinungod -Train students on proper ways to get BP, pulse and other procedures done in physical exam -First aid training will also be conducted -Event date: September 9. Library hours extension -Hours will be extended until 7:30pm -Signature campaign to support the request for lib hours extension -Already okay with CPH librarian. Only needs approval from dean. -For saturday lib hours: conduct a survey to graduate students on which library schedule they prefer (extension every weekdays, saturday afternoon, or saturday morning) -release date: once approved 10. Health and Environment Committee Head: Chantal Marie Sy 1. Food Safety Awareness Week (w/ USC) -Food handling training with the USCs Health Committee for workers at the Gab Cafeteria and the stalls during food fair. Date: N/A Estimated Budget: N/A 2. ADRES (will talk to ate Cham pa) -Donation boxes in preparation for the typhoon and relief operations during disaster. Date: N/A Estimated Budget: N/A 3. UP Meds Pagsama/ Come and Go Program (w/ USC), Adopt8 (w/ Sibol) -Adopting a community to take care for a period of time. Mangrove Tree Planting Project -Tree planting project somewhere around Metro Manila to help the environment and at the same time, have unity in the committee. Sports and Culture Committee Head: Faith Abigail Co 1. Sportsfest 2.0 -Badminton inter-batch tournament. The method of play will be round robin. The events are L adies Doubles, Mens Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. For every event, there can be at least two representatives per batch and at most 8 representatives. Certain number of points will be given to the Houses of the winners. Attendance will also be counted. Suggested date: August 10, 2013, 8am-12nn Estimated budget: 2 400 (Court fee) (200/hour/court at Powerplay, Bocobo) Thinking of considering this as an IGP (100 pesos per head para sa players, for the medals and prizes, then kung magkano sobra will go to the committee for future projects) 2. Sportsfest 2.0 -Table tennis inter-batch tournament. Certain number of points will be given to the Houses of the winners. Attendance will also be counted. 10. ALAB Leadership Training Session: How to Market Your Org -Know how to expand and market your organization! In partnership with ________ (I forgot their org name but I have their number and they said they were willing) Suggested date: September 13/14 Estimated budget: None (Venue: CPH) Income-Generating Projects: Badminton Tournament Table Tennis Tournament Selling of Shirts and Ballers I-STRAWBS and Gender Committee Head: Sarah Jane Abdon 1. UP naming Mahal: CPH Voice Out! - talk or forums regarding national and local university issues We will try to hold talks on big issues and try to update them on social issues through media. Here we bring out the opinions of every individual in the CPH community wherein everyone is allowed and mostly encouraged to join and participate. We will try to ask their opinions, suggestions, commentaries, whether it maybe positive or negative, and try to publicize them through media (Public Herald, CPH official website) etc. The aim of this project is to empower the students by letting them know that their voice does matter, to make them active and knowledgeable in issues and policies that are currently being made and to make CPH stand out as a college that is socially relevant and active. Date: As soon as the media and the forums are ready. (Month of August) Budget: 2. Makibahagi sa Tugon -In this project we will ask the students for their opinion, suggestion and ideas as to how we can make CPH a better environment for them. This could be done through surveys or evaluation forms. We could also discuss the problems that need to be addressed in our college and try to act out a solution for these adversaries. This can also be an avenue for them to post feedbacks on the organizations that they belong to. Feedbacks on different events can be posted here. Date: Monthly Survey Budget: 3. Peer Counseling -This projects aim is to try to reach out to the students and help them with regards to their emotional being. The I-STRAWBS and Gender committee can provide a hotline or use the pigeon hole of the members for drop-off letters. Date: Start: Month of August Budget: 4. Gender Awareness and Campaign -This project aims to make the CPH community aware of the current standing of Gender Equality in our society and to be more active when it comes to our campaign towards gender empowerment. This would involve talks, seminars and campaigns. Date: 2nd Week of September Budget: 5. Facilities Upgrade/Addition -This could be made possible through fund-raising events.
